HI All,

I am thinking of Living in Aylesbury and working in London.
My office in London would be near baker street..

Is it easy to commute to Aylesbury to London -baker street? what is the commute time during peak hours? Is there a direct train from Aylesbury to London?

Thanks,

It's also worth noting that quite a few inhabitants of Aylesbury choose to drive to Tring for the LNR services there, which are more frequent and quicker, as well as Euston being better connected to the Tube than Marylebone is.

I reckon I'd go with Marylebone, though. There's something uniquely civilised about it for a London terminus. And if your office is near Baker Street you won't, of course, need the Tube, just a short walk.

And quite few from Tring go to Berko, as they're more likely to get a parking space after 8:45ish!

Does Tring fill up even with the double-decker bit? Maybe they should take more of the modular double-decker from Bletchley and move it there (they already moved some of it to Leighton) as it's never even nearly full.

(I was amused the WMT franchise agreement requires more parking capacity at Bletchley - as it is *never* needed!)

Thank you all.
Looks like the travel time is 1 hour! are there any plans to have a fast train from Aylesbury to London?

Yes Tring fills up before the end of the morning peak on Mondays to Thursdays. No immediate prospect of extending it upwards or outwards owing to local planning restrictions.

No, no prospect of an improvement in journey time in the foreseeable. Amongst other things it is too difficult to fit that in with the Met services.

Does inter-availability Amersham - Harrow-on-the-Hill - Baker Street apply to season tickets?

To continue my posts, this means that with an Aylesbury to London Terminals season you can use the Metropolitan line on the section between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Baker Street, if that is easier for you to then get to work.

The lanes around Tring Station all seem to have double yellows now because of the crazy parking that used to go on around there.

It's not a very good service, short and crowded trains which take an age given the short distance.

However it isn't a bad commute in comparison to other people; you only need to pay to London Terminals, it's a 5 Min walk to Baker St, you will still have the choice of the Metropolitan line from Baker Street to Harrow/Hill and Amersham.
