Thank you for your help! I'll have a punt at the Feltham ASC role then.

By the way, there's a grade 9 relief signaller based at Three Bridges ROC (18% relief), should I assume it covers a lot of boxes and other signalling centres in the entire area controlled overall by Three Bridges?

The TBROC post would probably be in house and cross cover for the multiple links that they have in there. TBASC accross the tracks has its own GPR cover as does the North Downs area.

Slightly bemused by the TBROC one, if those figures are correct. AFAIA none of the links there are Grade 9; never heard of an in house relief on 18% flexi either.

Perhaps one of our TBROC members can confirm...

18% Grade 9 is a very nice number, I’ve not heard of multi location ROC based roel before though.

Would a grade 9 + 18% not be a very rare job? i.e cover the links at a G9 location AND travel to other boxes for the 18%

We’ve a 10 desk limit at our place, I doubt they’d allow you multi location + all desks.

I wonder if it’s a typo.

Never heard of a ROC-based relief covering other boxes.

Never heard of an in-house relief earning 18% flexi.

Not aware of any Grade 9 links at TBROC.

Intriguing! Over to the TBROC massive...

I know that according to the RMT circular dated 10/08/18 for the job evaluation panel, that TBROC Core Central and TBROC Core South were both regraded to grade 9, so that should create at least one grade 9 link. Also I’m sure that a friend of mine on the London Bridge link said they were upgraded to grade 9 earlier than that (TBC).

I'm assuming the 18% flexi is a typo. We do have a few grade 9 links though, London bridge lower level and the core links. Lewisham / Grove Park is a shoe in for a bump up as well once the paperwork goes in given that the rest of panel 5 is coming over from london bridge asc in a few months

There are 2 links with Grade 9 panels, Core South and London Bridge Panel 3B.

In house we are almost certain the 18% relief is a mistake as various signallers work panels on different links already without any extra payments.

I believe this will be a job for the panels covering London Bridge southern side down to the approach of Norwood Junction/South London Lines.

Will update if I get a definite answer.

My line manager has CC’d me into an email with the workforce development planner and they have stated March/April for the next school but no exact dates yet. I wish it was sooner but ill just have to wait.
Did you ever receive any date for the next courses as I myself am waiting for a date?

been applying for lots over the last 5 months, think my count after today is 10. Been turned down for some, others got to under review even got as far as completing the 2nd test but im getting lots of no's which I understand is common and Ill keep trying. But my question is what do they look for initially on 1st application. Is it the test scores of the 69 question or maybe your cv as Im thinking I might change some of the answers in the 69 questions.

Those initial answers are key. But you shouldn't expect to have an answer for them all. Especially the more technical ones at the end.

Hi,
New on here so please go easy!
Recently made redundant as a Control Manager with a rail company and now exploring other avenues. To that end a quick question, does a signaller require a PTS please? Thanks in advance.

No, should you need to go trackside at a remoute SB you’d work under your own protection is my understanding.

I was in a manual box and never had it. If we had to go on track we provided our own protection by ensuring and leaving all signals at Danger.
