Looking at this image from Rosso's twitter page, is Trax the next new route launch?

Yes:
Introducing Trax 467 & 468 Say hello to Trax! With a smart new look and feel featuring revitalised buses an a whole host of amazing new features including contactless payment on board, the 467 & 468 will also get a new name - Trax. There'll also be some small changes to our timetable on Trax 467 & 468.

Changes to our buses from Sunday 27 January

Quite a few frequency cuts hidden away in those route number changes...
See a couple of posts on the last page.

The main ones really being Bacup to Burnley dropping from hourly to 2 hourly and Bacup passengers now having to change at Rawtenstall if they want to go to Bury

And that the 485 is being withdrawn but most of the route is served every 15 mins by other services and also by a frequent First service.

It’s a frequent link between two towns so would be an obvious candidate for a brand. Even old Rosso branded it to some degree

Does anyone know which garages are running which Rosso routes? Apparently Intack run all the 464s, it would make sense for them to run the 481s as well but they seem to run from Burnley.

Yes, Intack run all the 464, and the recent Versa’s are all allocated there.
Burnley run the 7/8/13, 10/11 and recently (re)launched Irwellline 481/3 - and a couple of school routes. Everything else runs from Rochdale.

Thanks. There must be a fair bit of dead mileage on some of the Burnley routes.

It’s actually near enough the same distance to Rawtenstall from Burnley as it would be from Intack.

Many Irwell Line busss start/finish at Burnley so they don’t all run dead.

What is odder is the 464s all running from Intack - their must be unnecessary hefty dead mileage for the journeys starting and ending at Rochdale or thereabouts

Didnt Rossendale buses have a brand new depot built at Haslingden when the Rawtenstall depot was closed? What happened to that ?

Rossendale Council retained it when Transdev bought the company

It wasn't really a new depot as such, it was an industrial unit

Cheers Andy. I am reading that the council has now sold the building. Interesting times ahead in the Manchester area bus wise thats for sure!

I expected Transdev to repaint the fleet quicker than it has. For example the deckers from the Coastliner and Nottingham are still blue. Maybe many of the other busses need a refurb inside but I wouldn't have thought that was the case for the ex-Coastliner busses.

The repaints from the old fleet are limited to the Irwel & Tottington Line.

The deckers are mostly used on schools, and it’s quite handy that both the liveries are quite similar. They have added matching fleet names to make them look like it’s an intended livery rather than just slapping any old one on.

They have repainted all the streetlites, that are now on Trax and LakeLine.

Transdev have won the new tenders for the Rochdale and Bury locals, and are asking permission from TfGM to renumber the services from the current numbers in the 400s to Rs & B’s from the end of October

Cant see the locals being happy. Many weren't happy after Stagecoach renumbered the services in Wigan..

I know what you mean, running tenders with a relaunch and special branding to try and increase usage is so bad, they should just run a random selection of plain white Solos and just see out the contract, like is the way with most tendered services.

The problem comes when branded buses end up on a different route, which then counfses many passengers. And this happens on virtually a daily occurrence here.. oh, and let's not forget all the rainbow colours again confuse many people..
