Being a bit presumptuous, if you are waiting for a course you could well be with the first wave from these on going interviews. They are finishing this week, been going on all months and they said there are a few courses this year.

are we all thinking there going to give out all the DMI results on mass then when finished interviewing everyone? would give them a good idea how many they want to take on. hopefully hear this week.

Sorry should have said I’ve been in the pool since October, was offered a start in Nov but was unable to start then. Was informed it would be Feb or May when I should be starting. I’m aware things can change in the Railway as I’m not green, however I’m remaining positive. They finished the interviews for the Depot I’m heading too over a month ago.

I would have thought this is the best process. Will help them assess needs in terms of who has applied for which depot and who needs to go on what course for resourcing. They probably have a pile of fails and passes then will need to cross reference that with MMI and computer results then prioritise who they think did better in the interview. I wouldn't have thought they could send any information out before that. I'm personally expecting 2-3 weeks. I think this is possibly their last recruitment drive though, so with out all the logistical headache and sorting of the testing stages they can focus solely on the training process and it moves a bit smoother and quicker than it has done for the other lads. May be wishful thinking though :lol:

Thank you, same to you. Its strange watching so many different stages of the process being communicated on here at the same time. Seeing people talk about computer tests, stage 1 and now stage 2 is crazy as it seems an age since I did.

Is there anything to prevent you having multiple ongoing applications with different TOCs/FOCs? Or can you apply for all and then choose the one that accepts first / the one most suitable?

Thanks,

Those of you who have been in the pool since last year should start training in March. Those who have been doing stage two this month (me included), most of whom probably don't know the full outcome yet (again, me included), will be doing training in May and November, pending a full successful result, of course. Perhaps very few lucky January ones may find some space in March; unlikely though. This is what I gathered. They will continue to recruit in 2020. As expected, not many qualified drivers are applying or turn out to be suitable for the company. I may be wrong but I have a positive feeling for this FOC. OK, so now let's wait to see whether I am a winner or not.

I hope your timescales are correct but there’s still quite a few people in the pool who’ve passed assessments last year.

The only concrete order I understand they are recruiting in is by depot need....not necessarily the length of time you’ve been in the pool.

As far as I’m aware the March course is already allocated with contracts having already been sent out. Lots of us waiting in pool from last year still so I imagine the time scale will be a little later than that. But I’m going to keep fingers crossed that your right.

Would be nice to have an exact figure for the amount they have in the pool currently and the amount they are actually looking to train. I mean this 4 week period of stage 2s would have been roughly 6 a day for 20 days. So that's a possible 120 people. Wonder what that will get cut too.

I was pooled last November and waiting for news. My thoughts are more depot specific, lots on first course for Crewe and very few in march ? All from previous posts but who really knows

From what I understand the last 4 weeks of Stage 2’s have been specifically targeted at London (and surrounding area) depots and was after the original drive from July.

I believe that to be true. I was for wembley but believe it was a greater London and surrounding area catchment. I think it was 5 depots from the initial aplication if my memory serves me well.

My timescale may well have discrepancies but that is what I gathered when I was told. You are right, they may go by depot. I thought though to share this info will all of you. Who knows, I may be swiiming soon with some of you in the pool.

Ok i am a little confused here.

I applied for the Freight trainees role about two weeks ago online. It was Leeds.

It was simply filling out details, cv and it asked for various circumstances. There was no test.

I have heard nothing back as of yet.

Is this the same application? Are there many different stages?

I have seen a few Freightliner jobs advertised for Leeds in the last couple of months but none of them were for a Teainee Driver role.

Are you sure it was for Freightliner? I have the feeling you may have applied perhaps for DB.
