Looks like a full set is running to Scarborough again this morning - went past Haxby crossing whilst I was on the bus although couldn’t actually see it! Certainly there on RTT.

However I can’t see a path on way back (with trailing load to MID) although 2 paths through the day in very close proximity. One says ‘Diesel loco - 75mph’ and the other Diesel light loco - 60mph’.

Are these both the standard cl 68 training run or is one the mk5 set? These are both different again to the FLHH paths mentioned. Looks like a busy day for the signallers on the route!

0P68 suggests it is a light engine. Both the driver training locos were in York this morning (023 & 027), an educated guess says that 027, which was based at the Scarborough end has a fault of some sort and has been replaced

68027 worked 0B80 Scarborough to York on Sunday morning and then the rest of the diagram was CAPED, so that does fit in with what you say.

Thanks, yes now looks like Light Engine but as it originated from Lonsight I thought it was the full set. This morning I think RTT said trailing load but has now changed to Diesel loco.

http://archive.fo/PR3wB (backup from http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/sea...000-2359?stp=WVS&show=non-passenger&order=wtt ) suggests that there was some light loco activity but no coaching stock.

A tad off-topic, but 68030 Black Douglas is presently engaged in route-learning duties between Carlisle & Glasgow Central light engine. Preston depot learning the cross-border Glasgow route, from what I can gather (confirmation/corrections welcome). These duties are being carried out from the 28th to the 31st January, with four runs (two southbound and two northbound) on each of those days. I ventured south to Motherwell on the 28th (Monday) catch the first southbound run (0M87); the end result is linked here.

Correct although Preston Drivers already know Carlisle to Carstairs as they work to Edinburgh.

A busy day for driver training on the York to Scarborough line with 68031 working off Scarborough and 68023 working off York. Incidentally, 66413 was also out on the line on route learning.

The picture shows 68023 arriving in York as 0B67 the 15:20 Scarborough to York of 30.01.2019

There's a TPE 68 (019 I think) on the same line at Crewe as most of the Pretendolino carriages, parked about a foot away - will these be used for haulage training?

There's a complete Mk5a set in the yard at the old Alcan Aluminium plant at Holyhead, North Wales today, I presume a newly delivered and stored set as this place was rumoured to be used for storage.

CORRECTED:-
Sorry after a second pass it's a TPE Class 397 at Alcan Holyhead today.

It seems to be booked standing time at a number of TPE calling points.

Are they testing the ASDO by any chance?

Can’t understand the point in running testing on a line that it won’t run on daily when in service, for example running from Crewe or Rochdale for example

The Nova 2/3 trains are based at Manchester Longsight.
Crewe-Carlisle/Bletchley is a commissioning route for mileage accumulation, with the capacity to take the extra trains.
(WCML routes have also been used for commissioning new trains like the class 387 and 345 recently).
Rochdale is on just one (Calder Valley) of several diversion routes for use during engineering works/disruption on the main TPE routes.
All the new TPE and Northern stock will use these routes and others during the testing/training phase.
And before acceptance, the trains belong to CAF and are following their test/commissioning regime.

Looks to be returning via Rochdale

Rochdale will be regular enough I’d suspect due to section 5s & 7s on the Diggle route id suspect.

There seem to be a lot of rail replacement busses on at Huddersfield at about the time that it is due to pass through on its return leg - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/HUD/2019/02/06/0000-0500?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt

It's getting one of its diversionary routes at an early stage.

The Monday 4th February MID-Scarborough now showing as ‘runs as required’ on RTT.

The Tuesday working is as before.

Fingers crossed!
