This service ran on some Saturdays last year but was very hampered by strikes on certain dates, given that is anyone aware if they plan on running them this year

The Waterloo to Weymouth via Yeovil leg that provided the stock for the Swanage service is in the May - Dec timetable, but I’d have thought it was far too early to know if the extension will operate this summer.

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.

It will be operating this year, at the very least to Weymouth but with aims to continue the Swanage branch service again like last year.

I already assumed it would be operating to Weymouth, hence writing “in the timetable”. This is based on the other discussions about the SWR May timetable in a couple of other threads, which have confirmed it is intended to run throughout the period.

It seems that West Coast Railways are running the Swanage to Wareham route this year and are keeping the rolling stock for them on the Swanage Railway.

These also appeared last year until they were pulled. Unless WCRC are going to operate again down to Swanage, plans of whatever mainline running down there are unannounced in any case, then it seems unlikely that these will stick around.

Existence of a path in RTT is no guarantee the service will run

Dave

I'd take that with a pinch of salt, aside the odd service. The reason that Swanage railway didn't lease in wcrc last year was because it was not financially sustainable for them, which they publicly stated.
