Failed to load again on up-to-date Firefox, but I've just done it on IE (which I normally wouldn't think of using).

There were a couple that needed a bit more thought imo. Some i found hard to answer or assumed a particular set of views

I agree. I will never catch, or plan to catch, an airport express train - because a) it's cheaper by bus and b) because going to the airport you simply cannot rely on the things. All it needs is someone to jump on the tracks and all lines are blocked (as indeed happened a year or two back when I was catching a bus at Liverpool Str for Stansted - and the bus suddenly got swamped with folks running from the railway station.)

So for those services, I will never travel by train - whereas for other destinations it's very different.

I would have liked to have browsed through all the pages of the survey before committing to fill it in. It won't allow that.

I haven't done it yet: how long does it take?

If I go to gatwick I can either catch a train and then find all lines are blocked, or take the M25 and find that all lanes are blocked!

As far as I'm aware, the answers are only submitted when you get to the very end of the survey.

One very nitpicky point I would like to address with @Joe96 is that there are other school qualifications within the UK other than A-levels and GCSEs.

I thought the same. I filled it in based on what I think is the Scottish Equivalent (GCSEs -> National 5s etc)
I thought everything else was fine though.

Obviously they are the most common ones I did add a ‘other’ box in case this was the problem

Completed this for you, however in some cases (such as the disability one), it's hard to give a blanket answer as there are so many factors coming into play.
From a first year, good luck with your dissertation! :)

There are (although the government is trying to reduce/ eliminate them) - mainly vocational (but also the International Baccalaureate) but there are tables of 'equivalents' although even these are debateable within Education. I can't identify where one is - if you are interested, you could try the UCAS website. The same happens at post 18 level. In this, and any other case, I believe anyone who has a qualification - particularly vocational qualification - that is not listed but they believe is equivalent to GCSEs, A-Levels, degrees etc should claim that they have qualifications at that level. Most of the forms you fill in are anonymous and it is time we valued vocational qualifications in this country (probably worth more than a pass degree in Medieval literature from the University of Avon, formerly Crampton Hodnet Poly*).

* - no offense intended to the people of Crampton Hodnet or to those who have qualifications from polytechnics, which provided excellent, even outstanding, vocational education, but why are some now branching out into low-level courses in traditional academic areas which may diminish their standing? Rant over.

There's an argument that if you just want a degree so as to get into a graduate training scheme then go for a University which is easier to get into and therefore easier to get a 2:1 or better.

I know someone with straight A's at GCSE and A's and B's at A- level who went to a good university and got a 2:2 whilst other prime who went to the other university in the same place with much lower pre uni grades but came away with 2:1's and firsts.

However if you are looking to work in a related field then the good/bad universities are known within the industry and so you do tend to be better off going to one of the better ones.
