I could not stand the original by Aqua, but Pellek's version of this 90s 'classic' is (in my opinion anyway) fantastic:

Which song covers do you like?

The Slits' version of "I heard it through the Grapevine" is worth a listen. Like the aforementioned Johnny Cash cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt", the best covers are ones which add a new element to the original, be it a tone shift or gender-swap.

Look, I admit I don't know A-ha's version, but I cannot believe it's better than the original by the Everlys, which would have to be on my Desert Island Discs list. Even better was seeing them in the flesh performing it when they were at the height of their powers, and a little-known band the Rolling Stones were way below them on the bill

If you want a slice of over-the-top psychedelia (and who doesn't from time to time?) try Vanilla Fudge's version of You Keep Me Hangin' On from 1968 too.

State Azure's cover of 'Love On A Real Train' (quite apt considering this forum) is fantastic - I prefer it to the original.

Suspicious Minds - Fine Young Cannibals (from Elvis):

+1. My favourite cover of an Elvis song.

Although guitarist Andy Cox in the video appears to be suffering from St Vitus' Dance!
