Location
Redditch
After my recent disappointment of failure at DMI stage with Freightliner I've jumped straight back on the horse with this vacancy and the ones at both Birmingham depots. I'm based in a location almost equidistant between the 2 locations.

It is a separate vacancy and application for the Birmingham based roles.

Although am currently in the pool with freightliner I’ve put in for the Birmingham position. But I’m also just as close to Worcester so have emailed to ask them if I can also put in for Worcester as the way it read seemed like you couldn’t have two applications in at same time. Am hoping your right and I’ll fill in the Worcester one also.
Where abouts are you based?
Best of luck mate

I read it as you can’t have apps in with WMTs for say New Street, Crewe, Worcester etc.

No mention of different operators, WMT wouldn’t know if you have an app in with freightliner talent pool for example.

They wouldn't know specifically that someone was in the FL Pool however they would obtain your OPC results and compare them to their standards. This then allows them to know what tests you may require to resit, if any?

Yes, they couldn’t nor wouldn’t know if you had an active app with another operator so you could if you wished apply for more than one toc aside from WMT.

They're referring to multiple WMT applications.

Yes, but it’s ambiguous.

It appears their trying to make it sound that your not permitted to apply if you have any other active applications.

Railway recruitment, especially driver recruitment seems to be a one way street in terms of how HR departments treat potential employees. The Virgin EC scandal where dozens of people were taken right through the process only to be dropped like hot rocks is typical of the contempt they hold you in.

Talent Pools are the recruitment version of Zero hour contracts, keeping you semi commited to something which may well never happen.

We all know there are literally thousands of people who will sell their nan to get a trainee job, HR know this full well so they can literally treat you how they wish with zero comeback.

“Candidates can not have applications for multiple locations” or words to that effect.

Multiple locations could mean within WMT or across the various FOC or TOCs it doesn’t specify, in this era of people applying for multiple operators it could be taken as you can not apply for them if your in with another operator.

Its referring to their vacancy as they have multiple locations advertised at the moment. Your not allowed to apply for bhm and worcester for example, however you can apply for as many different tocs as you want to.

It really is quite simple, they are only concerned with you having multiple applications for WMT.
If you cant follow them basic guidelines then it's not going to come across well.
It's not ambiguous in the slightest.

I wasn’t looking at the other jobs, hence why I wasn’t aware and assumed the view that I did - then again I’m not interested in the role so didn’t look properly.
