The problem with the Labour Party is that it is full of blairites and the pro EU lobby and zionists who are the ones that are causing all the problems. I think it is good news for Labour Party that they left. And good riddance to them i say.

There is no anti semitism in the Labour Party and there never has been. It is just the zionists looking to cause problems. There is a lot of lies coming from the right wing blarite pro EU lobby zionist side of the Labour Party as usual. All these people will just do anything they can to criticise Jeremy Corbyn.

Criticising the occupation state of Israel does not mean you are anti semitic. It is true that Israel is a fake illegitimate terrorist state and needs to be wiped off the map and all land returned to Palestine. That is what i believe. But that doesn't make me anti semitic. I have not criticised Jewish people and have no issue with them. Not all Jewish people are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jewish people. There is a big difference between criticising Israel and being anti semitic.

Its funny how people call Jeremy Corbyn a terrorist but do you not realise that is exactly what Tony Blair and pretty much every PM we have had was! Tony Blair was a terrorist and mass murderer in charge of killing millions of people in his illegal wars and invasions! In fact most western leaders these days are terrorists. I think you will find that, Theresa May, David Cameron, Emmanuel Macron, Angela Merkel, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and pretty much every western leader has supported wars and terrorism. In fact the UK (alongside, Israel, USA, France, Saudi Arabia, etc) has been one of the biggest supporters of Al Qaeda and ISIS and various other middle eastern terrorist groups. They have constantly supported them and supplied them with weapons and all the assistance they need.

Our very own military is one of the worlds largest terrorist organisations. They have spend decades starting illegal wars and illegally invading other countries. They have been responsible for killing millions of people and torturing people. Look at all the crimes our military has committed in, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ireland, and so many other places. Just as Arglwydd Golau has said many people don't even realise the terrible crimes that the British military has committed in Ireland. Look at our continued occupation of the six counties and of the Falkland Islands. Our military is no different to the USAs military. They are simply murderers and terrorists.

Do you also not realise that this current government supports the headchopping bone saw wielding state of Saudi Arabia who are one of the worlds biggest terrorist countries and have some of the worst human rights. Look at the way they treat women as well. Our governments have always supported all the dictators and terrorists. They criticise Jeremy Corbyn for supporting Hamas and Hezbollah (who are legitimate resistance groups who have every right to fight against the occupiers) but yet they support the worlds biggest terrorists.

Look at the UKs latest support for the USA led coup attempt in Venezuela to overthrow the legitimately elected democratic leader Nicolas Maduro and replace him with a far right terrorist who was not even elected. It is all about oil. They want to control the oil in Venezuela and don't like socialist leaders. We are always trying to start wars with peaceful countries like Venezuela and Iran and many others.

There is nothing wrong with Press TV. It is actually one of the most honest factual news agencies. They actually tell the truth unlike the British state owned BBC who always produce propaganda and lies.

Jeremy Corbyn has always been on the right side of history. He is a breath of fresh air in the Labour Party and is what we have needed for years. We need someone who will up to the leaders of, Israel, USA, Saudi Arabia, France, and someone who will stop supporting wars. We need someone who will nationalise our, railways, buses, water, gas, electricity, postal service, we need socialism which helps the poor. All of our recent past governments (both parties) have only cared about the rich wealthy elite. Jeremy Corbyn supports the democratic choice of the people to vote for brexit. Rather than all of the pro EU lobby who want to ignore our democratic choice and have a second vote just because they didn't like the result. He is an example of a perfect leader.

This is why i support Jeremy Corbyn and always will. I just hope that the remaining blarities and pro EU lobby and zionists leave as well so we can return the Labour Party to a true left wing socialist party of the working class people.

Corbyn and his friends have destroyed the previous "broad church" of the Labour party. It was a church broad enough to encompass the serial disloyalty shown by Mr Corbyn during the leadership of previous incumbents without trying to get him deselected or kicked out of the party. Now we must show unswerving loyalty of the type he never did on pain of expulsion!

The "broad church" certainly wasn't that broad and encompassing with the left, or alleged Militant, in the 80s. Let's not over-egg the pudding here.

A bit of a generalisation?

I would suggest that the reason why Blair won was just as likely to be that the country was fed up with Major vs The Bastards. There was a lot of truth in 'Things Can Only Get Better'.
you are right about the tories being in meltdown. perhaps there is some truth in the notion that a party can be in government for too long and a change is sometimes necessary. But there was some evidence that older women voted for the first time and voted labour.

But Brexit has truly derailed the old order in UK politics. And to a lesser extend Scottish nationalism. Labour have lost a core vote heartland in W Scotland to the SNP which makes it a massive hill to climb to a majority.

And both tory and Labour are massively split on Brexit. How this will affect voting in any coming General election is unknown. There is a big campaign to de-select remainer tory MP's like Grieve, Anna Soubry and Nick Bowles.
And labour have a split electorate. Huge numbers of remainer MP's where a majority of people voted leave. but many constituencies where people voted remain.

There is. John McDonnell even admitted it. It is a thing that is going on.

It is just the zionists looking to cause problems. Criticising the occupation state of Israel does not mean you are anti semitic.
This depends on the way one does it. Your next sentence is a perfect example of how not to criticise Israel.

It is true that Israel is a fake illegitimate terrorist state and needs to be wiped off the map and all land returned to Palestine.
Not true, an opinion.

That is what I believe. But that doesn't make me anti semitic. I have not criticised Jewish people and have no issue with them. Not all Jewish people are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jewish people. There is a big difference between criticising Israel and being anti semitic.

I think that you are mistaken at the definition of terrorism. While I don't agree with the military policies of the Global North over this century, that doesn't make them terrorists.

Do you also not realise that this current government supports the headchopping bone saw wielding state of Saudi Arabia who are one of the worlds biggest terrorist countries and have some of the worst human rights. Look at the way they treat women as well. Our governments have always supported all the dictators and terrorists. That paragraph was going so well until you started agreeing with Hamas and Hezbollah.

Venezuela has moved way beyond socialism. "There is no humanitarian crisis" says N Maduro (there is) etc. etc. States have the right to recognise who they wish as the leader of another state. For example, European states gave Maduro 8 days in which to hold elections before they started to recognise Juan Guido. "Juan Guido is a far right terrorist who was not even elected" - what rubbish.

There is nothing wrong with Press TV. It is actually one of the most honest factual news agencies. They actually tell the truth unlike the British state owned BBC who always produce propaganda and lies.

Leaders tend to unite people. He's managed the exact opposite since he first popped up.

Anna Soubry by far the most likely to, possibly taking Justine Greening with her. I can see Sarah Woolaston going too, but then she's never been a dyed-in-the-wool Tory and could well be re-elected as an Independent with an increased majority. Any men? Nah, none of them have the balls....
Sneaky feeling that Dominic Grieve could be tempted IF he was guaranteed the leadership.

they were not Labour. They were a party within a party. They were "entryists" to use a lefties phrase.

My take on the Beeb is that it is very slightly left of the present Government but isn't really biased. The evidence of this is that everyone thinks it's biased against them. If it's biased against everyone equally, what does that mean? :D

I would say it is certainly one of the more trustworthy news organisations out there, though none are perfect. It is absolutely not an organ of the state as some think it is.

It is my views and the views of many other people all across the country. Many people support Jeremy Corbyn and his views. Just look at how many members the Labour Party has gained since Jeremy Corbyn became the leader. They have one of the highest membership rates for a political party in all of Europe now.

What is of course interesting is that you are (in my understanding) quite left-wing in your politics - so that shows he isn't just splitting the "wings" of the party.

I am left leaning but not a rabid communist! However i do agree. I just don't like or trust Corbyn.

I honestly don't know who I would vote for at the next election. I have always voted Labour, and can never see myself voting Conservative as too many of their policies contradict my values. If the Lib-Dems hadn't shot themselves in the foot by getting into bed with the Tories in 2010, I think they might have been a sensible political alternative by now, but as it is, there is nothing to appeal to the centre left.

I find Jeremy Corbyn to be too radical and a bit of a loose cannon. I simply don't trust him and I can't see him being any kind of statesman. Whilst I disagree with Teresa May's policies, she has handled herself impeccably over the last few months, with great dignity and integrity. I just don't see that kind of skill-set in Jeremy Corbyn.

Like some previous posters (and of course, unlike some previous posters) I found the Tony Blair era to be the most suited to my thinking. No extreme views one way or the other, but a sensible centre ground with the emphasis on social justice. Of course, he then spoilt everything with the Iraq War, but that seems to overshadow everything else about his time in office. His was a pragmatic government; one under Jeremy Corbyn would, I fear, be dangerously dogmatic.

The other confusion for me is that I have a very good local Labour MP whom I have personally got to know slightly (for non-political reasons) and who is very visible at local events and causes. At a general election one should really vote for the local candidate you feel will best represent you and your community in Parliament. End of. But of course it's not that simple and national politics have to be considered as well.

Quandaries, quandaries...

A very good post that expresses the position many in the labour family are in.

You are welcome to your views. I will simply say that perhaps you should read more widely that Squakbox and The Canary and George Galloway on twitter and engage in some critical thought.

BTW what makes your views almost a parody is the complete dislocation from reality, not that I disagree with them.

The post by you shows everything that is wrong with Corbyn and his followers. This is what is driving away decent, sensible people. The hypocrisy is obvious. They claim no anti antisemitism and then post anti Semitic thoughts in the very next sentence!

Next will come the justification for that antisemitism on some spurious grounds that reject all logical definitions of antisemitism! it is tiresome. The far left groups that Corbyn has enabled to capture the mechanisms and leadership of the labour party have long held virulent antisemitic views. Only now are they able to come out of the shadows and express them openly.

That certainly used to be the case, but I do think think something has changed in the last couple of years.
The way they now seem to give equal voices to things like climate change deniers, and refuse to correct the issues around a no deal Brexit, and then there is the Question Time mess too.

Also note that Katie Hopkins has given her support to these seven MPs who have left. I think that says all you need to know about these people. I don't think that people who are supported by Katie Hopkins are the type of people the Labour Party should have as their MPs. Thank goodness they have left.

Katie Hopkins probably also believes that Murder is bad, doesn't mean I have to think it is good just because I don't like her.

I think that you've forgotten that it would have been pretty nigh impossible for Labour to obtain the swing required to win the 2017 election....from my memory I can recall people as diverse as Tom Watson, Margaret Beckett, Peter Mandelson and Owen Smith on election night praising the success of the Labour campaign led by Corbyn...the swing at the next election would be much more manageable (probably not now though)

To be honest, I think that says a lot about Katie Hopkins. By supporting a breakaway (any breakaway, on anything) it should guarantee a Conservative win at the next election, probably with an enhanced ERG cohort. The results of '83 show what happens - fairly safe labour becomes 3 way marginal (Labour, breakaway, Conservative) with the Conservative getting in on many occasions.

Also, when did Katie Hopkins turn down an opportunity for publicity?

Another party split caused by Brexit. Without that distraction, there could have been a focus on reigning in Corbyn and putting up a credible opposition to the Tories. Instead, we have a party led by a Eurosceptic who is more concerned about getting into power than fighting the greatest threat to our countries stability and prosperity for a generation. Meanwhile, we have a band of tories pushing an ever further right-wing agenda without any real checks and balances.

I don’t think Brexit is the root cause of all this, though it may be a convenient reason to use. This seems to be more about moderates being eased out of the party in favour of those leaning more towards Corbyn. This smells to me like a case of jumping before being pushed.

I don't think it's the fact that it's disagreeing with it that made DarloRich think your post might be a parody. It's that your post was full of blatant falsehoods and utterly absurd statements, which no-one who keeps reasonably informed about current events and recent history could reasonably believe. Every day I see countless posts on railforums that I disagree with, while at the same time respecting that the other person clearly believes what they write and is grounded in reality - allowing us to have a reasonable debate about, for example, the likely impact of certain policies and so on. But seriously... anyone who thinks that - for example - Maduro is a 'legitimately elected democratic leader ' is completely divorced from reality. If you seriously believe even half of what you wrote in that post, then I'd seriously urge to reconsider where you get your news from.

The problem with the Blair years was that over time people saw that many policies were poorly delivered. Likewise the initially well-oiled PR “spin” machine eventually went stale. By the end of it we had one key player disgraced due to the Iraq war, and the other symbolised by the Rochdale incident.

In the case of the latter, it wasn’t just the bigot comment, but the disparaging way he was heard to say “they should never have put me with that bigoted woman”, which straight away made him appear fake and facile.

membership numbers of a political party doesnt equate to votes at elections. labour are doing really badly in opinion polls despite a dysfunctional tory party.
Maybe Corbyn is being canny and sitting on the fence in opposition while tories implode over brexit in the hope of a swing to labour in a couple of years time. Whatever happens about brexit, half of the population will hate the tories for betraying them. Maybe Corbyn can sweep up on a protest vote having never had a clear brexit policy, and therefore not pissed anyone off.

I'm really glad this has happened, and hopefully more MPs follow suit!
I would not vote for Labour in a million years (in its current form), especially with Corbyn and his incompetent shadow cabinet!
At the moment the Tory party is the least worst option, or even Lord Buckethead himself

The 'least worst' phrase is something a friend of mine came out with some years ago (and it must be a good while back as he died in 2000!).

Some would say that Corbyn is one of the Tory's biggest assets and it is difficult to argue with that. I'm still waiting for those that support him to come up with a reason why, despite Mrs May's unpopularity, Labour are still so far behind in the polls.

To be fair, May tried this one 1n 2017 and that didn't really work for her, did it? Many voters might see that she would deliver Brexit at any cost whereas Labour might not....
