Are they not going to replace the yellow stripe on the 374 trains seems a flaw with the newer trains?

I thought about this yesterday. The 374s look like they have paint peeling from the yellow band along most carriages - but is it actually peeling, or are they just damp patches that show up on the yellow paint more (i.e. it's an optical illusion).

They are peeling and it looks awful on such new rolling stock.

The refurbished ones don’t seem to have this issue.

I fear it may only be fixed when they decide to repaint these trains.

Surely a stripe is easy to paint rather than a full paint as I seen how quick they painted the LNER trains under the last rebrand.

The VTEC / LNER livery is mostly vinyl, not paint.

Trainset 3106 has been partly saved. The story is in a Belgium trainmagazine. The train was too long to be completely saved. There are puctures of destroyed carriages. Real pain to the eyes.

Why has it been saved?

Good afternoon, would anyone happen to know which train / unit set would be operating the 12.58 Hrs STP to Brussels on a Thuirsday and return Brussels/STP 18.56 hrs? Old / New / refurbished? Thank you.

Not sure if services always have the same stock but on Friday 1st Feb the 12:58 was operated by a refurbished original (373) set.

I went out on the 12:58 on 14 Feb and it was a refurbished train. The 18:57 return was a new train.

The source about the 3106 is the Spoorwegjournaal from Belgium. If this is against the policy of this forum remove it. The pictures are 4 times 900 Kb. Not the best quality sorry.

With 3106 scrapped at Derichbours's (less loco and car 1306/9) would it be ok to assume all the other sets moved from Dourge were also scrapped in Saint-Saulve, Valenciennes.

the 8th and final set (3209/3210) returned from refurbishment on 16/04/19, ran from Hellemmes to London via Brussels.

remaining "classic" unrefurbished sets are: 3215/3216, 3217/3218 and 3223/3214.... with 3224/3213 still in use with Thalys/IZY.

There have been a few pictures available, which might even be earlier on in this thread - but I'm not about to search over 40 pages for them...

Is the main reason why the last remaining un-refurbished 373s aren't yet scrapped/retired due to the problems with the Ashford signalling still not playing nicely with the 374s?

I was very pleased to travel on 3223 last Saturday 15th June, on the Marseille service.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised that they put an unrefurbished Class 373 on this long journey (which incidentally was a brilliant journey). But I certainly wasn't complaining. Most likely my last trip on the 'original' trains.

Is this example due to be withdrawn, or refurbished?

They have said that they have taken delivery of the last refurbished 373 now, so that one almost certainly will be scrapped.

I suspect the reason they put it on the Marseille service is because they know that people will complain about the uncomfortable new seats on such a long trip...

Considering the fact that according to the Wikipedia article on the Class 373 only 5 of the French-owned sets with numbers 3732XX had/have 1500 V DC capability I went through the list of sets on that same article (brackets give sightings in the South of France/Alps):
373201/373202 scrapped
373203/373204 scrapped
373205/373206 refurbished
373207/373208 in storage
373209/373210 refurbished (sighting 373210)
373211/373212 refurbished (373211 sighting 1, sighting 2; 373212 sighting)
373213/373224 Thalys TMST (sightings 373213, 373224)
373215/373216 TMST (sightings 373215, 373216)
373217/373218 TMST (sighting 373218)
373219/373220 refurbished
373221/373222 refurbished (sightings 373221, 373222)
373223/373214 TMST (373214 sighting 1, sighting 2)
373225/373226 scrapped
373227/373228 scrapped (sighting 373228)
373229/373230 refurbished (sighting 373230)
373231/373232 scrapped

But surprisingly, this gives a significantly larger number of sets with 1500 V DC capability than there should be. Not sure what's behind this or if this has maybe got something to do with some renumbering. But it does seem like quite a few of the unrefurbished sets have 1500 V DC capability.

3211/2 - it's only the power cars that got refurbished; they're running around with the ( refurbished ) trailers from 3203/4 - the power cars of which were scrapped. The original trailers from 3211/2 have been scrapped.
