The following two train services call entirely at unstaffed stations only (including the origin station and destination station) and are so far the only two i can find:

• 2E07 - Fishguard Harbour to Clarbeston Road:
06:50 - Fishguard Harbour
06:53 - Fishguard & Goodwick
07:14 - Clarbeston Road

• 2E08 - Clarbeston Road to Fishguard Harbour:
07:20 - Clarbeston Road
07:38 - Fishguard & Goodwick
07:44 - Fishguard Harbour

So i am wondering what other services in the UK call entirely at unstaffed stations only? Note that the origin station and destination station must both be unstaffed as well as all the intermediate stations for it to count. Also the stations must be completely unstaffed at all times. Can anyone think of any other services?

I can’t think of any more that have none, but Pwllheli - Machynlleth and Ebbw Vale to Cardiff only have one.

In the summer timetable there are (or at least were) some St Ives trains that terminate at Lelant Saltings, where all the stations are unstaffed.

Though in practice I believe staff are on the platform at St Ives and Carbis Bay, and St Ives has a rail-appointed travel agent in a building adjacent to the station.

Fewer and fewer in recent years, none now, and as the Park and Ride is moving, none in the future.

St Ives is staffed throughout the summer

Another planet...
The old Wakefield Kirkgate to Knottingley service would qualify, but alas they now run on to Leeds via Wakefield Westgate, both of which are staffed.

Many thanks. So it looks like the two i found are probably the only ones. I am actually quite surprised at how many stations are still staffed (even if a lot of them are just for a few hours in the morning).

It’s probably more the case that the vast majority of train services go to somewhere significant, as otherwise the service wouldn’t really have a purpose. That said significant place would generally be staffed.

Also out west :

2E09 08:35 Pembroke Dock-Whitland (Summer Saturdays only)
2E18 09:07 Whitland to Fishguard Harbour (Winter Saturdays only but divides at Whitland off the Pembroke dock train, does that count?)

Cheers

Technically Whitland station has staff though - the signalman...

When we say unstaffed do we mean ticket office staff, platform staff, barrier staff, operational staff etc?

But given that the train doesn't actually go as far as Whitland - it terminates at Tenby and heads back to Pembroke Dock?

You’re quite correct I was replying to the wrong post, meant to quote the one about Pembroke to Whitland.
