I’m unfamiliar with west worthing and the layout surrounding the sidings, however a single unit (025) went in the early hours. With 021 remaining in Ferme Park for now.

I spy with my little eye... Now with added security guards.

Seems 2x6 car can't be stored due to the Condition of the Walking routes. A 12 car 700 you can store as you can walk through the train to the refurbished/ up to standard walking routes.

Are the 717s cleared to run anywhere on the Thameslink Network?
Yes providing ‘Tripcock’ arm is removed under each driving cab end Other than that same profile as 700 .
Cleared as in’ gauge wise’ rather than cleared for revenue operation

They are. But if you look at the cancellations so far this morning. They are all down to 700 failures. With my experience of the 700s I don’t expect to see much improvement once the 313s start going. The day is young of course and 313s could fail during the day it is just the 700s causing the problems at the moment.

The new figures coming for the 700s apparently shows a marked improvement and is mostly attributed to a software update that went out recently. Does anyone the specific fixes?

And, given both are on the Desiro City platform, do said software fixes make their way over to the 717s?

It depends what the fixes are for, and whether the 717s already had them.

True. My hope is that, where the 700s have had a rough introduction over the past couple of years as pointed out by other members, that the 717s will largely work out of the box because the 700s have been the proving ground for 95% of the software that they share (figure plucked out of the air) and once the various issues with signal sighting etc. are resolved then we'll see a speedy introduction and a reliable service from them. Well, that's the hope.

Apparently in modern railways it is detailed. Not read it yet.

Experience over past 2 weeks has shown an increase in failures. We have seen 8 cars swapped with 12 (nice increase in capacity). Although I understand these are door faults. So maybe a temporary spike upwards followed by a crash. London - Cambridge had many large gaps the other day because of lack of 700s forcing consecutive trains to be cancelled

Nothing positive from the replacement of the 365s with 700s yet.

GTR is asking Siemens to give them 5 more 700s a day, so I assume they've got a reduced fleet at the moment.

717 002 planned to move this Saturday morning from Cricklewood to Hornsey via St Pancras Low Level, early birds may view it reversing via platform ‘A’ Low Level around 9am (5Z80)
This will leave four sets stabled at Cricklewood
Can't find schedule on RTT would you mind pasting a link?

There's more than one 717 at Ferme Park, just looked out window of train to Moorgate. I think there's 3 but there was a freight train blocking the view.

As of 11:45, 717013 and 717021 are stabled on adjacent roads in Ferme Park.

Also the remainder of the testing diagram for today has been cancelled with the 717 which ran the 10:37 heading back to stable at Hornsey.

Looking forward to seeing these start service on the 11/3/19.
Will this be a full stock roll out or a semi or just a few more active preview runs?

Won't be big bang. From what's been suggested on here, a couple of units will start working diagrams in the printed timetable. GTR will likely slip in a couple more each week assuming all is well. Some of the units have been stored off of the GN network too, so will need to be brought back and made ready.
