Hi,

I'm currently a driver at a London based TOC and I'm looking to move to another TOC within the London area in the future. I'm lucky enough to have a mutual swap with another driver so I just work permanent earlies. Are swaps common/permitted at other TOC's and if so, are they fairly commonplace amongst drivers? Any information greatly received..

Many Thanks

It happens at my depot, you tend to have to sacrifice some rest days here and there to get what you want. I guess your other option would be to look at getting an accommodated link if you have a justifiable reason for it.

Ok thanks for the info.

Does anyone else know if this a common practice in their respective TOC's?

Thanks

Happens loads at XC. Easy to organise if the depot/link has a fixed rest day pattern. Tends to be earlies which are more popular, so if you want permanent earlies you might have to wait a bit.

Happens loads at gwr too. Many on a permenant swap for perm earlies and lates and even nights.

Swapping the odd week here and there isn’t uncommon too
