No, currently 30 out of 54 are in the new livery.
Sorry I am a bit confused , I thought there were 26 sets or 52 power cars which I assume includes the sets which are still down south . I actually meant the sets operational or on training justnow in Scotland . Thanks

There are 54 powercars in the fleet for 26 sets plus 2 spare. Of those powercars only 10 are not in Scotland today.

You're not being serious are you?

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
I got on that packed 158 the other day (and lets not forget a 158 is a rare sight north of Dundee), and had to stand, but then that's the first time I've had to stand on this route in three years, so lets put this ****e in perspective!

Although this is unscientific, when I used the departure from Dundee that calls at Barry Links and Golf Street back in September 2015, this was a Class 158. I don't know if that working is normally a 158 or not due to local door operation at those two stations.

Maybe misworded that - between Dundee and Aberdeen I meant. I've been on a 158 three times in the three years I've commuted, so...

An unrefurbished set on the 1739 Edinburgh-Inverness today. A nice surprise as JourneyCheck had been showing three coaches vice four all day and the "formed of three coaches" message on the departure boards vanished worryingly at about 1725 leaving me expecting a 158!

I can see what people say about the lighting, it is quite harsh. Don't mind the seats.

Not brilliant then. Cheers
Discussed this with scotrails Twitter team seems rest were scheduled in for maintenance or didn't have required staff 7 units short today... Looked pretty dismal on that front

I'm planning to get some later this month which is a first for me. I hope it goes better.

I wonder what the crew can do while it's sitting for four hours at Ladybank! I suppose a crew cadges a lift back to Edinburgh and a new crew comes from Perth or Inverness to pick it up.
I'm actually coming down to Edinburgh on Friday but too late to catch it on the Sub which is near where I stay.

Non HST jobs in Aberdeen,... 158's as far as the eye can see, including plenty on Glasgow recently

Yet another 158 I've had from Glasgow to Aberdeen, this evening.

Funnily, it got me remembering that a few month back, a new user came on the forum to ask which 158 services run between Glasgow and Aberdeen, so that him and his son can have a ride...
... and what a time to do it if it were now!

Surely must be the most 158 workings this line has seen since the 90s?

Have Wabtec managed to deliver a single set this year to Scotrail? I don't remember when the second one was

I was on one between Dundee and Perth around 1700 today. No seats obviously - glad it was only 20-odd minutes.

Maybe all the 4 car sets!!! If we're lucky.....
That sounds more likely, based on Wabtec's current rate of delivery and what they're promising for one of their other customers. 9 refurbished sets, enough to oust the "classic" scratch sets before the end of the year but still well short of a complete fleet complement.

The second set was delivered on 11th January, about four and half months after the first set...So the pace has picked up somewhat since then if the third set is about ready to go now, but one vehicle every two weeks certainly won't see the fleet delivered before the end of 2019.

For someone who is highly critical of the project at every turn, you seem to be remarkably forgetful of what has been delivered.

At what point are Wabtec/Scotrail going to admit that the refurbished fleet will not be delivered by the end of 2019?

It remains to be seen, but I very much doubt the arrival of the refurbs one by one will correspond with working classics correspondingly being ousted one by one.

More likely, I'd have thought, that the 10 classics will keep going until 16 of the final 26 refurbs are up and running. Only then will the refurbs will start directly replacing the classics.

They'll get a dispensation to run classics after 31/12/19. The paperwork is probably already being done for that.
