Well with the open tops, the purple one and the Trident that leaves 7, which should be enough for the boards provided nothing is off of the road. In which case one of the 2 Urban E400s or one of the remaining urban B7s off of the 7 would need to be used.

You might be the recipient of another 1 or 2 pre-enjoyed Tridents??

One for Steve White - in the LH annex is a dark blue anonymous Pointer Dart. Looks like the one that was donated to a school up by Downend??

Had a wander round to see LH in the afternoon peak and the lack of vehicles meant a couple of the Bath hybrids were parked up there and visible. 39138 is right by the fence but others not usually seen were visible. Waiting for a new financial year before doing anything??

Your right the blue dart is former Southern National 42823 it was going to a school as a further class room it should have gone by now unless they are not ready for where it was suppose to fit.

That wasn’t the one I was thinking of  I was thinking 42701 but confused why it would be there.

That makes a lot more sense :D Thanks for the clarification

That is a possibility, another Trident Costered, there was certainly a Barbie liveried one was certainly on a 75/76 the other lunchtime. Would certainly be a solution to have 1 or 2 more to maintain the whole service.

I reckon, we’ll see more momentum on re-engineing and repainting in April. Perhaps we’ll see more Lynx repaints.

Agree with you - the usual reductions of various uni services in May (and the changes you mentioned on Excel) will also provide a bit more headroom to undertake repaints etc but challenges too. If and when new fleet arrives, that will also help.

That said, there are also probably other OpCos waiting for cascades - Leicester getting Eclipses and some StreetLites was mentioned? It’s like one of those Chinese puzzles!

Just came off a trip on the Bath U2. 32673 was performing and I got on in Oldfield Park as I wanted to see how the buses managed on the hills from Twerton up through to Whiteway. Was quite impressed how sprightly it was actually. Even around one o'clock is it was surprising how many students were travelling. There is no conversation on these buses as they are all too busy on their phones!
32673 was quite smart inside the lower deck. Seating a bit worn but nothing too bad. We met 66884 on a 5 around North Way but luckily it was in a convenient place to pass each other. I can see how difficult the passing could be around there though.
The lower deck still had Scottish adverts. Three different adverts addressed to 'Dear Racist' or 'Dear Bigot' or 'Dear Transphobe.'

Seems to be a regular haunt for 32673. Guess it fits in well with the on hire blue deckers. I've not seen 32669 yet though. Always like it when they fail to remove adverts from the interior - remember travelling on one of the BoS Tridents that had a Crimestoppers type notice sponsored by the Daily Record!

Away from Bath and onto the metrobus. Working in Emersons as I occasionally do, it does look (anecdotally) that the m3/m3x is growing in popularity. Anyone have any gauge on how the other routes are doing, especially the m1 at the two extremes?

I was on one of the 334** E400s the other day and it still had an advert on the ceiling advertising Taunton as First Bristol, Somerset & Avon. How long have they been part of Kernow?

Perhaps we should start a new survey-who has seen the oldest out of date advert!
I think 32669 must be poorly as it doesn't seem to have been about for some weeks.

The m1 north of UWE is definitely improving. Whereas it was originally very much only busy in the peaks with less than one handful of passengers at other times, it is busier - perhaps 10-15 on board most journeys. I have noticed though that, especially late night journeys from Cribbs, the 73 seems much less busy.

I have family in Charlton Hayes, and they will now usually get the m1 into town rather than the 75 - the advertised journey times aren't far different, and the m1 seems much more reliable to them. And they get the m1 to us, rather than the Y6 or 19.

So is the m1 north of UWE just abstracting from other local routes?

I got on the 1310 m1 at Cribbs Causeway yesterday and I was the only person on board as far as Aztec West.

I must admit I do find the automated announcement lady very Bristolian!

It's good to see that the wise councillors of BANES have decided that cars don't cause pollution however it's important to raise the costs for bus operators (and therefore bus passengers) to encourage them to use cars instead!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-47454884

Sadly, its the same in Manchester, where there planning on charging bus & coach operators £100 per a vehicle per a day for non-euro 6 vehicles. But no charges for cars, vans or lorries.

I see that Traveline has now been showing for over a week that many of the current First WOE timetables will come to an end on 27th April, but there are no new timetables yet showing.

Does anyone know what the changes are?

The affected services are:
Bristol 1-4, Bath 1, Bath 3/3A, Bath 5, WSM 5, Bristol 6, WSM 7, 7XP, Bristol 8-9, 35/A, 36, 42-45, 48-49, 70/71, 73, 96, 376, U3, X1-X9, m3/x

It is mentioned that X1-X9 will have changes. 48/49/70/71/U3/M3/M3X are most likely to be changes relating to U.W.E summer holiday. 8/42A will most likely be summer changes too.

The rest will be interesting

I assume these will be negative changes? I Do find the interworking has really damaged the reliability of the north Somerset services especially the X1/2/3/4.

I have heard suggestions that the following might happen in North Somerset

X1 back to the X1 of old running direct Bristol - Weston
X2 Hourly doing parts of the X7 route out of Weston then serving Yatton and Long Ashton Hourly
X3 / X4 / X5 / X6 Not sure about
X7 as far as Clevedon
X8 back to First and via Long Ashton
X9 back to Abus Monday - Friday

i'm sure we will find out before long what is actually happening :)

Not necessarily, some of the changes could be described as being negative, but some of them are extremely positive. They should also help to improve punctuality.

The reason that the X1 & X2 interworks with the X3 & X4 is that was the only way it was deemed possible to introduce deckers onto the Portishead corridor. It cuts down on a hell of a lot of dead running in between Weston and Bristol or Portishead.

I wonder what is being done to the 3 and 4 in Bristol as those are my local routes. Hopefully something to make them more punctual (I am not holding my breath) but I will be happy as long as the night journeys are retained on the 4.

I see you are, for want of a better word, a Henburyite so I am about 2 miles SW from you as the bird flies. Mind you even if the night services on the 4 were dropped you would have an alternative (the 24/7 76) albeit by a longer route. Mind you they could always start night journeys on Service 1.

I've been wondering for a while when there will be news about the upcoming Bristol changes. Glad there is now finally at least news about which services there will be changes to. Am particularly interested as to what the changes will be for the 1,2,3,4,8,9,73 & 376 will be. But I'm not expecting any interesting route changes, I reacon it will just be frequency changes and minor timetable adjustments across these services. Also last year it said there would be changes to the 8 & 9, but in fact there were no changes to the 9, so I'm expecting the same this time too!

Oh well, we'll have to wait another week or two yet to find out what exactly these changes are.
