I've just noticed that Red Spotted Hanky are increasing their booking fee to £1.50 from 15/3.

http://www.redspottedhanky.com/terms-and-conditions/fees-update/

At redspottedhanky.com we pride ourselves on being totally honest and transparent with our customers. That’s why we wanted to let you know about a couple of changes we’ve had to make to our booking fees.

Booking fees
Rising costs mean that, reluctantly, we have no choice but to increase our booking fee to £1.50.

It’s something we’ve resisted in the past, but in order to continue providing you with an excellent service it’s a change that has become unavoidable.

The increased booking fee will be introduced from Friday 15th March 2019.

Rest assured, we will continue to keep it simple with a flat rate of £1.50 per booking - no matter how many tickets you purchase with each booking or how much you spend.

Unlike other operators however we still don't charge a credit card fee.

Delivery & collection fees
There are no changes to our delivery fees and we will always aim to offer a free delivery option for your tickets. Choose an e-ticket or m-ticket and your delivery fee will be free. If neither is available then you can pick your ticket up at the station for free, too. If you need your tickets posted then there is a small charge of £1 for standard postal delivery (normal rules apply to next day delivery).

I'm sure most people here know better than to buy from a site that charges a fee, but I know there are people who still have evouchers they bought with Tesco clubcard points, so you have a week to use them to avoid the price increase.

The line about "being totally honest and transparent with our customers" is obviously nonsense. If they were really interested in being honest and transparent they'd have emailed customers about it, and not put it on a page that is hidden away where hardly anyone will see it.

The whole “unlike other operators we still don’t charge a credit card fee” is a bit odd; isn’t there a recent law against charging extra fees for certain payment methods?

Yep, they're not allowed to charge for card transactions. In shops however, there can still be a minimum payment to pay by card, and some companies have moved the credit card fee to the booking fee to make it 'above board'

I was trying to think which ticket buying websites charge extra for paying by credit card seeing as it was outlawed last year.

None, 'cos they're not allowed to.

Funny thing: it used to be in merchant agreements not to charge a fee, then that was ruled unlawful. Then the law changed so they weren't allowed to charge one. All very full-circle.
