All of the 2,520 railway stations on the National Rail network in Great Britain are classified into six categories (two of which are each divided into two subcategories) by the Department for Transport.

Manchester Victoria is quoted on Wikipedia as an example of a Category B Station, whereas Welwyn Garden City is an example of a Category C1 Station.

How is this related to Manchester Victoria though? Because there are hundreds of Category B and Category C1 stations.

They are both listed on that page as examples for their categories, of which there is only one per category (total of 8 stations). It isn't really a link between the stations themselves.

I’d be inclined to agree on this one, two stations being quoted on Wikipedia as examples is a little bit too tedious a link for the intents and purposes of this quiz I’m afraid. I hate to intervene and don’t want to set a precedent of any description, however if we could find alternative comparisons I would be most appreciative! :)

Haymarket is also the second most important station to link to a tram network on their network.

Sorry if this is badly explained

London St Pancras International is also linked to the London Underground through Kings Cross St Pancras.

Back in the early years of Glasgow Queen Street's history, trains were once rope-hauled out of the terminus by stationary steam engines, due to the steep gradient up to Cowlairs. This is also the case at London Euston, with the steep gradient up to Camden.

South Western Railway Class 458/5 - which normally operate on the Waterloo-Reading line - were converted between 2012 and 2016 when (previously designated) Class 458/0 were merged with Class 460, previously operated on Gatwick Express services between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport.

Elephant and Castle is also the last station for trains entering the Thameslink Core (all the rest of which are also served by the the London Underground Northern line)
