I decided to take part in the Forum bash along with 5 others using a Northern Rail Friends & Family Rover that cost me a whole £7.00.
I started on the 06.34 Southport to Stalybridge arr 08.07 to meet with the others at Stalybridge.
I then caught the 08.46 Stalybridge to Stockport Parliamentary Train arr 09.07 (along with a few others railway fans !).
I caught the 09.45 from Stockport arr Stalybridge 10.06.
It was then the 10.30 from Stalybridge arr Manchester Victoria 10.49
I then caught the 11.05 Manchester Victoria to Buckshaw Parkway arr 11.12, then the 11.33 from Buckshaw Parkway arr Chorley 11.37.
I then caught the 12.36 from Chorley arr Arnside 13.32 - I went to the pub for a diet coke while others went for a walk - thats to much like hard work for me !.
I then caught the 14.28 to Leeds arr 17.03 and got to see some beautiful scenary during my journey.
My final trip was Leeds 17.21 direct to Southport arr 20.03, but due to signalling problems etc actually arr 20.30 (my delay repay claim has gone in !).
So, I think you can say I got full value for my £7.00 Northern Rail Rover dont you think ?.

Agreed there, I wonder what Northern will come back with for your delay repay claim (although I suspect it will be "sorry no money back due to your ticket held")
