Cheers mate We’ve been in Talent pools for about the same amount of time so hopefully it won’t be too long before you hear something.

If you don’t mind me asking does it confirm your starting salary and rough timescales of pay increases at all?

They haven’t given me any of that yet. It’s only a conditional offer at the moment, but after my medical and security check a formal one will be made. I guess that could be the point at which all that is clarified. I’ll try and keep people informed.

This is all great news, well done to all those with conditional offers! So this I assume is a previous talent pool? Do we know if that one is any indication of moving things forward for this latest drive?

Still waiting my end atm too, was told 6th May, medical also passed, just waiting for the final offer to arrive. Hopefully in the next day or two. Anyone else got the same date provisionally for Reading?
Also does anyone local to Reading know anyone who rents rooms please? I am going to have to find somewhere to stay for a couple of months until I can get sorted out. Any help would b greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what class units Paddington sign for?
Thanks
Hi There
Paddington LTV Drivers sign 387's & Turbos. Top Link Drivers also sign 800's and HST's. Not sure if new intake Drivers will sign HST's though.

Hi Dean,

I've on hold for July 1st. They offered me May 6th, which I was not able to do. Have my medical booked for next week.

Does anyone know how long the course is at Reading? Also what traction will I be driving? (I believe trains operating are 387/166/800).
After 20 years in my current career, this is an exciting new chapter for me! :)

Hi Alan
I believe the first 12 or 19 weeks are classroom based with a little front end riding involved there.
To start with you will learn Turbos and 387's. 800's are for top link i believe

Can I ask how long you were in the pool for and when you got your offer?

Thank you! I'm looking forward to it. My grand father was a train driver in France for the SNCF, and I guess him taking me in his cab when I was aged 8 planted a seed somewhere, so 32 years later, here am I! :)
Magic mate..meant to be. Enjoy

Dean, do they not provide a hotel for you during training? Worth a check.

Hi.
Only if training away from home depot. I applied for Reading so that is classed as my home station.
I don't mind as once I find somewhere I can then settle down and study in the evenings.
Just so chuffed I was accepted, so will do anything needed now to make sure I get through it.
