I was in Norwich for earlier in the week and managed to escape without any problems. But my god why would anyone company want white rolling stock.
Also whats the problem with the new sideings behind a locked gate. I think I saw a post about this before?

The Wensum Sidings have no agreed method of working. Reported issues that they have always been used very very occasionally & that NR are not happy for them to be used as frequently as planned without alterations to signalling & that's going to be expensive. Currently operated from a ground frame.

Is there a logical reason for this or are they really storing units out of use, to return off lease I presume, whilst they're making dozens of short forms every day?

untill last night 317722 was stored at Ilford for a while following a serious fault (I think) and has been donating parts to other GA 317s.

Ah yes 722. If I had a quid for every time I shunted that thing in or out of the repair shops I would have long since retired.
Has it finally been flushed out, never to return?

Is JourneyCheck working for anyone this morning?

It's showing 0 for everything at present which is obviously not an accurate reflection unless a miracle has happened.

Still doesn't work 90% of the time, some would suggest it's convenient that when GA are continually short forming services and cancelling rural DMU services, that the tool that shows this doesn't work.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
nothing as yet, believe NCP is now full following the arrival of the first 745/1 and with the MNR not ready to take any stock for storage at the moment.

Although an interesting point, could you please explain the bolded bits?

I believe it is a long standing forum policy not to use abbreviations, acronyms, or jargon without first saying what it means.

NCP Norwich Crown Point
MNR Mid-Norfolk Railway

As for the policy, it needs re-thinking - maybe with a frequently used list of acronyms. Do we really have to spell out High Speed Train every time? There has to be some level of presumed knowledge.

Only testing up/down pantograph on the move still & not drawing power. This can still only be done under an SPZ as far as I am aware so would be in diesel mode.

From a good source.

GA now have all but accepted that their plans to replace trains will be delayed until the first half of 2021, which shouldn't come as any great surprise to anyone here.

There are still discussions ongoing about how to deal with platform length restrictions and there has been talk that that the 317s running on the Hertford East route will be 'changed' for different trains, whatever that means.

Find it weird that they didn't just say they would be replaced by new trains, seeing as how much they like to shout about that. Perhaps indicates that there's something in the rumours that other stock will run there?

Class 365s have been put out there since Abellio has them for Scotrail. 379s would be easier to use as drivers wouldn't need to be retrained. I honestly thought a 2020 introduction was likely but 2021 is further than I thought. Given only 1 class 720 is known to exist and the rest of them are still sheets of piled aluminum in Derby, what could you expect? Derogations are a must, but as said before, Siemens would have been a better choice, plus they have always been of better quality than Bombardier. Knowing of Bombardier's problems, they made a poor choice. But as you said, the team at GA are not operations oriented and are PR/Finance people who were on the bid team with no experience on running railways fast, and without knowledge of the practicalities.

Also a recast of the timetable to run a 5 and 10 car railway is unnecessarily complicated. Why not stick with a 4, 8 12 car railway and not have to recast the entire thing? Modify the current timetable, move trains a few mins forward or backward to create a new path or two? They have only created problems for themselves and that isn't just about rolling stock..
