Having heard about the "Cotswold Venturer" railtour, hauled by Flying Scotsman and running on the 15th of June, I tried to look up the service in question on RTT. However, it didn't show up. Having used RTT for the Cotswold Venturer before, does it appear on-the-day of the railtour, or does it appear in advance? If so, how long in advance?*

*I've forgotten how RTT worked for the Cotswold Venturer before.

Thanks,

-Peter

Schedules only appear in systems like RTT once the NR staff at MK have published them in their train planning software. They won’t do so until everything is agreed. For railtours this can sometimes be a last minute job depending upon the complexity.

Also timings for trains hauled by Flying Scotsman are sometimes kept secret for fear of lineside trespass.

Oh OK. I hadn't thought of that. It's a good thing that the railtour company has put out some form of timetable, even if it is, as they put it, "approximate". I think that this railtour will be extremely popular (in terms of viewers) around Oxford and Didcot; this section of line is celebrating its 175th anniversary on the same day as 60103's railtour!

I would expect the times to be very similar to the same trips that ran last year. (i.e. 0705 from Paddington)

The "Baird of Avon" hauled by Tornado which ran yesterday (the 23rd) only appeared on RTT the day before, Friday, despite the timings being confirmed by the tour operator a week earlier.
