Are there any estimates of what the park and ride situation is likely to be at St Erth in mid-August? Will Lelant Saltings still be the best option for trains to St Ives?
Thanks!
As said earlier by @83G/84D, after the May timetable change only one service each way per day will call at Lelant Saltings. Will Lelant improve its service? Or is the idea to pretty much run St Erth-Carbis Bay-St Ives only? And less stops improves the realiability, which can suffer, certainly in summer

Apologies, didn't realise there were to Lelants.Indeed, which is why I was asking about Lelant. Lelant is much more handy for the actual village, The Saltings (actually known locally as "The Muds" but for some reason "Lelant Muds" was rejected as a station name) is only handy for the new housing development.
As one from the old village of Lelant, born there just over 65 years ago, if the service from the village is re-instated even to on hourly stop in each direction without having to request a stop, the better. The platform at the Saltings should be disposed off. It's a total eyesore, always has been, and the "car park"put back the way it was as a wildlife refuge.Apologies, didn't realise there were to Lelants.

It's not a full service, but more than Lelant Sayings will get.

These days they rarely close a station; just reduce the service to a nominal level. This avoids the rigmarole that is involved with a full closure. Stockport to Stalybridge has been one train a week in one direction for 20+ years! As one from the old village of Lelant, born there just over 65 years ago, if the service from the village is re-instated even to on hourly stop in each direction without having to request a stop, the better. The plan is for Lelant (Village) to receive basically a two-hourly service all day, rather than just early mornings and evenings. Lelant Saltings drops to a token service as stated. The big winner is Carbis Bay where all trains all day will now serve. The Park & Ride at St Erth will be a far better facility than the basic car-park and bare platform at Saltings.
Just for reference - Lelant Saltings is such a short distance from St Erth, it is adjacent to St Erth outer home signal. Lelant so close to Saltings, it is adjacent to the St Erth (fixed) distant signal. The local community will have no difficulty even if Saltings closes.
I went through St Erth last Friday, the first day when the long-awaited traffic lights at the junction of the A30 and the road to St Erth Station were operational and the pattern I expected was already happening i.e. traffic on the A30 from the Penzance direction wasn't too impeded, but the other direction was an entirely different matter, as they have to stop for two other separate traffic movements. When you ally this to buses from Lelant Saltings queueing to access the roundabout, then having to go round it and join the queue stretching from the new lights right up the Hayle Bypass, it could easily take 20 minutes, even half an hour, to complete the short journey, as it did for much of last summer when they were merely working on creating those traffic lights!
