Hi there, I will be wanting to travel from Cardiff to Holyhead on the evening service. Does anybody know how to get the cheapest ticket? I was watching this video;

And now I have to do it on my next visit!

in fact I am coming from Ireland, is there any sail rail that can be combined with a business class ticket?
If you have a valid (Standard Class) SailRail ticket you can purchase the Business Class upgrade on-board. However, you may wish to purchase the upgrade, as well as a seat reservation, in advance to ensure that you will be able to use the service in Business Class, as there are a limited number of seats.

Perfect, I may get a sail rail ticket from Rosslare, across to fishguard to have a destination of Holyhead and travel via Cardiff and get the ferry back over from Holyhead to Dublin and the coach back down to Waterford where I live.

In that case it'll be £35 for the supplement. Seat reservations are free. It should be available from any GB ticket office (though my experience is that it can be a struggle for them to find and sell it if they're not familiar with the service) and I'm not aware of it being available online.

Unless you are desperate to sit in the restaurant to the bitter end, I would book to Shrewsbury for £15 or Chester for £20 and switch to Standard there. Shrewsbury is plenty time for the meal and coffee.
