Apologies in advance if this shouldn't be posted here - any info on Wednesday's allocations of 065 - 070 - 088 would be appreciated.

Strictly on topic - seen in and around the Manchester area on Tuesday were 001 - 003 - 005 - 007 - 011 - 013 - 014 - 025 - 026 - 031 - 033 - 035 - 036 - 038 - 039 - 042 - 047 - 052 - 055 - 056 - 087 - 096 amongst others.

Interesting 087 and 096, I have these noted as Heaton units. I know they can turn up in the North West, but have any been re-allocated HT - NH given 158's starting to work ex HT in recent weeks?

I've got 7 to go and want to try and get them in the next few months. Next Saturday I've got a pass out again, don't want to spend all day waiting for them to turn up at Victoria, any other great ideas on hunting them down?

I'm chasing 142022 and 142086, to clear the northern ones plus 3 welsh to clear the lot.

Recently I have travelled a couple of times from Wigan to Manchester via the Atherton line on weekdays. This last week there were plenty of Class 142s still about. However, yesterday I noticed only the odd one on the Atherton line.
Does Northern not require as many DMUs for service on a Saturday compared to a weekday?

I'd better book an appointment with Specsavers then, saw it as it passed rather slowly and a tad late by our house Stockport bound could have sworn it was 40, is there any chance there was a unit swap at Stockport for the return service to Stalybridge?

I know this question has been asked previously, although however does anybody know which lines 142001 is regularly allocated to, and when is it likely to be withdrawn this year???

Sat at Salford Central and have just seen:
142009 is on diagram 1J16 to Leeds with a 150 for company.
142042 is on diagram 2K61 to Kirby by itself

Sorry to b pedantic but just to explain that 1J16 and 2K61 are not diagrams. They are trains. A diagram would be the planned full days work programme for each of the units. Hope this helps to explain.

It was paired with 142005 on the 1919 Manchester Piccadilly - New Mills Central earlier this evening.

To my knowledge it's a Newton Heath (NH) based unit, so would more often than not be found working in or around Manchester / Liverpool. The NH based units do sometimes 'stray' to Sheffield and Leeds for example, so hard to guarantee anything specific.

It had a 153 (358 I think) for company when I saw it at Leeds around 1430 this afternoon - I think it was waiting to depart on the 1428 to Knottingley but there seemed to be issues with it as it was announced as 'delayed' whilst I was walking to 158752 on the 1436 to Manchester Victoria.

Had a ride on 155345 today from Hammerton to York. Faster off the mark than the 170s on this stretch. Quite a pleasant ride and too soon to be withdrawn as everybody seems to predict on here. 155347 was also in York platform 7 working the Leeds direction at the same time 345 arrived at platform 8.

No sign of any Pacers in the three hours I was there except 144017 in platform 1 on Sheffield via Pontefract.

Im 99% was no swap, i left at 09:30 and there were passengers sitting onboard nothing showing on Realtime trains about going from a different plarform either, shows 3A for arrival and departure.
