Apologies if I’ve missed this but does anyone know the date the new TOC will be informed they have the franchise?

We should find out very soon who the new franchise holder is, and it should commence in August 2019. The franchise will either remain with Stagecoach, or be awarded to Arriva or Abellio.
No matter who wins it, the name of the next franchise is ‘East Midlands Railway’.

Should be no effect, I haven't heard of any plans to ditch the shed links, and Abellio and Arriva both have depot drivers in other areas of the country so are not anti-shed links per se. Stagecoach will probably keep it anyway me thinks.

Thanks very much.

Hi,

I’ve had an email informing me that I’ve passed stage 1 testing. I’d appreaciate any info on what stage 2 entails?

I’ve actually recieved a second email regarding a video interview. I wasn’t expecting this and I’m really not sure what to make if it, has anyone had experience with it?

Thanks :)

Hi Gabe, I'm not the best placed person to respond as I'm awaiting my stage 1 results but this thread includes all of the details the various stages of the recruitment so worth a read through, i thought stage 2 was a team exercise and then a speed interview bit like speed dating but interview style. I've never heard of the video interview so maybe some of the stages have changed and a video interview sounds interesting!

Good luck and thanks for replying. Yeah I’ve searched the thread but I can’t see any mention of a video interview. On a separate forum I found a poster that mentioned one but before stage 1 so I’m confused. I know some people that have recently gone through the process, who were told that they would have a video interview but it never happened.

Looks like the video interview is now new to the process. It’s not something that us previous applicants did.
Just prepare for it like you would any other interview though.

Good luck everyone! :)

Hi Gabe, I received an e mail on Monday regarding my passing stage 1 assessment that i took on the 29th March in Derby. The e mail stated that they would be in touch shortly, but no mention of any video interview or what was required re. next stage.

making an assumption here, but i've come to thinking that the video interview is another sifting process, and that if you've not been asked to do one then you'll be going through to stage 2. I made a hash of dials but passed, to my surprise and probably by the skin of my teeth, and have the video interview to do. Just a thought and assumption so don't take it as gospel.

Has anyone who did the assessment day on 18th March had a date for their DMI? Will the change of franchise affect the current recruitment campaign?

I was on that day and I've not heard anything either.

I know others (far more clued-up in how TOCs work than I) have said it shouldn't make a difference, but I can't see why a company would continue with the time, effort and cost of recruiting for staff to go on courses starting in 8 or 9 months, when it won't be in charge of the business in 4 months! Unless there's some form of contractual obligation?

It'll likely be the same HR staff, the same trainers and the same driver managers under abellio. If they don't do it now they'll face some harsh shortages in 4 months time. Also, yes, I do believe there is a sort of "leave it as you found it" protocol, generally full compliment head count at handover.

Yeah, as Spankthemonkey said, it’ll certainly be business as normal until Abellio start in August, and even then, nothing will probably change immediately. Don’t panic! I’m sure you’ll be fine. :)

Thanks for the reassurance guys much appreciated. I think I’m just a bit of a pessimist and tend to worry about things

Hi all,

The video interview isn’t too bad, I wouldn’t particularly worry about it. Just prepare as you would for stage two and you’ll have it covered.

So I’m through to the next stage. A morning of group sessions then interviews should I be lucky enough to get through.

Any advice?

Gl all!

Hi everyone, I don't know if they have started sending invitation for DMI, because after they went through my application and know I have passed the assessment stages, they told me I don't need to come for stage one anymore that they will send invitation in April. Has anyone receive any invite?

For those on the mid March stage 2 groups waiting on DMI, you think they are waiting for this wave to come through and do all the DMI's in one big run?

Hi all, is anyone else waiting for stage 1 results from the testing at the end of March? I was there on Friday 29th and have not heard anything. I emailed last week to ask if my results were available (as it's clear to me from this post and the other regarding the leed depot that people tested at the same time have been informed.)

Just wondering if there are others still wating really and I know there is nothing I can really do bit try and not check my emails every 5 mins!

I was at the stage one testing on the 27th for Leeds and have done the video interview and been invited to stage two since then, might be an obvious one but have you checked your junk/spam emails?
