I went for a 2 piece suit and tie for my assessments with Virgin. Most of the other people wore suit too so I’d recommend a suit and tie. Colour doesn’t matter but wear blue suit if you have one, they look crisp to me!

My personal opinion is that you should dress smart. I’ve seen people go to the SWR assessment in ripped jeans & baseball caps! It was commented upon! You are wishing to join a front line customer service role which has a uniform standards policy why wouldn’t you want to demonstrate at every given opportunity you can turn out smart?

Smart casual. It can be a long gruelling day so you need to be comfortable. I got the job wearing smart casual to assessment so it won’t make a difference about wether you get the job or not.

If you make it to interview then definitely wear suit and tie and polish your shoes lol

Presumably cheese & onion if it’s blue?

On the whole I agree regarding suits though, it all counts early on and although probably won’t affect one getting a job at this stage, first impressions count. Smart casual is okay too, as long as that means trousers, shirt and shoes I’d say.

At mine all the men had worn suits and ties. The assessor said he appreciated the effort but to get comfortable and take off our ties if we wanted to - which we all promptly did.

The same was said when I went for my Freightliner assessments. It’s best to go a little bit over dressed and be told to take off a tie than to go under dressed I suppose?
