Around 19 have mostly 3+2 seating with on my coach ends having the more luxurious seating

Are there enough of those superior seats to make those units identical to the majority with 3+2 harder seats in the centre coaches only?

Edit many early /1s now refreshed
377112 117 101 107 all seen

I guess the squeaky tables could be improved once the programme reaches later sets

377119 refreshed smells brand new
Guessing all of the top spec 19 have been completed

I was on 377 110 a few days ago and it seems that, post-refresh, most, if not all, of the seats have had their springs taken out, leaving the back of the seat hard and uncomfortable.

In contrast to this, I was on 377 105 the next day and the seating was wonderfully sprung and comfortable, so I'm assuming it's only 377 101-109 that has the comfortable seating now (with the occasional 377 120-139 having comfortable seating at either end of each coach)?

I think only very few ever had the springy seats

Only /3s now lost to metro and a few /1s.. those with the plastic moulded seat grabs ie not metal

Understand this refresh will be complete by 2021. The last refresh ended early 2015 having started in 2011 so it's a five year cycle
Surprised no plug sockets are being fitted

Only amendment to the interior design is a darker vestibule carpet

Pretty sure some carpet is only steam cleaned as it doesn't look or smell new...

Oh, that's a shame. I always thought the seats on 377 110-119 weren't that bad, but they seem harder since the refresh.
Some 377 120-139 units have reasonably comfortable seating at either end of each coach, but the best seating is in 377 101-109 and the /3s, as you say.

It seems 377120-139 with the high density interiors are not being touched though they need work as the metal seat grab handles are battered. Non metal like the 450s might wear better

Think 377101-119 are completed and I've seen a later /1 treated possibly 140 but I can't remember

I have heard plug sockets are coming?

Surprised they didn't receive an overhaul on the same scale as Southeastern's Class 375's to be honest.

Wonder if one day moquette will be Used

Leather head rests for the next franchise ?

Notice the priority seat stickers on seat backs have been removed presumably due to them looking shabby ie torn lopsided or upside down

What I do think is pretty good is that a refreshed 377 still feels quite fresh and modern, even with a fairly old colour palette and design language. It does say something positive for the design. Likewise they are hardly falling apart mechanically and electrically, even if there are always a few tweaks needing to be done to improve something or other.

Some good news as well on the hand dryer front - as many people on here will remember, dryers were isolated following the fire at Eastbourne, but they are now gradually being replaced and reinstated on the Turbo fleet, and I believe Electrostars are starting to follow the programme.

120-139 were due to leave and interestingly not seen a refreshed one yet but 140 has been done

Creaky seats on these battered grab handles too

Also interior doors not shutting is a frequent problem catching people out if only one opens

Yup many 377 handriers are now working.

Im really bored of the green sandpaper seat covers. Hope when the new franchise comes we get normal 'brushed' material.

Yes they always seem to stain bad and get really dusty the GN 700's and 365's use that material as well I'd rather have cloth like SWR which I think is better.

The seating frames in the narrow portion have been resprayed and you can see the damage to the metal that has been covered over if you look closely

Give it no time and they will be marked again. The aisles are far too narrow. There is one part of the train where you come out of a gangway door and there is a seat in the way

Nightmare with luggage

C2C style job for the next franchise?

yeh you are right, they do get dirty and look warn quickly. when u compare the covers to the NSE blue covers there is a clear winner

A good start, pity the SE 377s won't be done up like the 375s
We thought 163 and 164 are with southeastern long term...but theyve got a 'repaint' in southern colours (or in reality a touch up!). Surprised it wasnt vinyled in SE colours.

Still no sign of plug sockets
In some ways the /6 or /7 fleet could serve the london to coastal routes well given the wider corridors and plugs

Yes, much like the benefits of the GX Brighton extensions with the almost identical 387s. Although the interiors of the newer 377s seem a lot less robust than the 387s.

The 377/6 and /7 units used to run a lot of weekend Brighton services at one point, especially the old semi-fasts via Redhill on a Sunday.

On a high density (377120-139 ?) Unit- didn't get the number

Anyway first of these I've seen refurbished and sadly the awful seating layout remains. The outer cars always confuse commutes who aim for the back or front for the better seating

Still it's immaculate at least

Whatever made you think they’d take seats out?
