With approx 55 x 385's now delivered to SR and the remainder due over the next 6 weeks or so, will that eliminate all the 314s and will it provide additional DMU capacity on other routes e.g. EK, Fife, Borders? Or does that later plan depend on the HSTs proving themselves resiliant and not needing frequent DMU substitution?

As of the May timetable change there will still be 5x class 314 diagrams per day. There will be strengthening on the EK branch though.

Not that I know of. Currently 56 delivered and 51 in service. More deliveries due but that's as much as I know.

385038 and 385039 moving north this evening on Merchant Park - Craigentinny.

Any further movements on c385

The folk over at Scot-rail.co.uk (who are usually very well informed) reckon that it is three more 4 car units to come from Newton Aycliffe over the next 2 weeks, followed by the remaining five 3 car units from Newton Ayclffe over the first two weeks of May. Late May should then see the arrival of the final four units from Italy.

I managed a couplenof trips on 385s last Sunday between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh.
They are nit too bad. Bright and airy inside with decent PIS

I'd much rather 47/7 with Mkiii and DBSO but sadly times change.
The 385s are slightly better than the 158s I've caught before.

No delays encountered on the new trains. Seating was as per usual now being functional rather than comfortable.

I see from the latest Sectional Appendix that there is a permanent speed restriction of 75mph for all emus between Larbert and Stirling "until further notice". Anyone know why? Normal speed restriction is 95/100 mph.

Interesting, I was wondering if there were enough 385s plus retained 314s to support an electric service via Shotts.

Something to do with the catenary perhaps?

I see that there's an STP for a light engine from Tees to the factory on Wednesday, which suggests that there will be a further delivery then.

385019 is on the diagram today. I wonder when we will see more on the cathcart circle and shotts line?

Just saw a 385 on 2M79 go past my window heading to Pollokshaws East. First time I’ve seen one out on an evening service on the circle

RTT suggests that this was 385019, which formed the 1945 Central - Newton service after finishing its duties on the Shotts line.

This was posted in the HST introduction thread months ago:

hearing it should be ok but with a 75mph TSR EMU only between Larbert and Stirling due to additional dynamic load testing not being completed on time.

Maybe the load testing hasn't happened yet?

The speed restriction was removed around the time electric services started to Stirling. Can guarantee EMUs have been travelling at linespeed between Larbert and Stirling since they were introduced.

The STP from tees is cancelled including a STP from tyne. So, it doesn't appear to be a delivery tonight.

First time in a very long time there's been units swapped between those two routes. You'd probably have to go back to the early 1960's?
