142054 & 150143 on 2S69 16:34 Burnley Central to Blackpool South.
This service was supposed to start at Colne but started short at Burnley due to late inward working.

142088 & 142094 on 2Y11 12:15 Lancaster to Leeds via Morecambe.
Same pair also noted on 2Y15 17.15 Lancaster to Leeds via Morecambe and Bare Lane then single track to Hest Bank. NB The new summer timetable on RTT has no services shown running on this route so there are only five more Sundays (excludes Easter due to Engineering work Leeds to Lancaster) to travel over this section of track.

Thanks for that mate, I didn’t realise that the north curve from Bare Lane was not going to be used for passenger services when the summer timetable starts. I’ve done it hundreds of times since I moved to Morecambe in 2008 mostly to go to Carnforth to go to the snug micropub on the station. I’ve only done it once in the other direction and that was on a rail tour.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld

If there is going to be no more passenger services on the north curve at Hest Bank, has there been a formal closure process being as the present Lancaster - Leeds via Morecambe are the only passenger trains to use that section of track?

Back in the mid 1990s, there were plans to scrap the Fort William sleeper train, but was saved as that was the only passenger train that used certain sections of track.

I’ve not checked but perhaps the first service from Lancaster to Windermere will use that bit of line as it currently does.

There are still services to and from Whitby. This photo was taken on Saturday - 142019 on 2W35 Whitby to Hexham - pictured at Easington Colliery. I think 104 miles and 36 stations served, would have been a good trip apart from the extremely dull weather we have at the moment.142019-2W35.jpg

142007 on 0804 SHF > LDS (2L06). Should also do 1102 / 1402 / 1702 etc runs.
142095 on 0807 SHF > DON (2R41), then runs ECS to York (5Y90) then I think back to Sheffield later

Were some people looking for news of 142001?

I had it this morning on 1J03 Leeds to Southport (0621 departure from Leeds). As far as I know this diagram stays on the same route all day.

It would be good to have this unit saved for preservation, although it has the original seats it has had modifications in the form of a large bike rack being added, and overhead luggage racks removed on one side of the coaches.
