Random question, but has anyone ever walked to or from an airport for a flight?

I've walked with friends from Carcassonne airport into town (very small airport, small city, tight budget at the time!)
I've walked to/from Linköping on several occasions, though I don't think I have anywhere else. Not because of budget, but just because it's only a half hour walk into the city centre, and it always feels marginally absurd walking to/from an airport!

When my rugby club played Jersey quite a few of our supporters who flew in the day of the match just walked to the ground from the airport.

I walked to AEP airport in Buenos Aires for a domestic flight.

I've walked from hotels near airports to airports, and from the car park to the airport to save waiting for an unpredictably timed bus. The advantage of this is a predictable journey time. With Heathrow, annoyingly, you can't, because there is no pedestrian tunnel any more.

Me - Gibraltar. Very odd though walking across the runway! Early arrivals can leave arrivals, pop over to West Beach for a bit of sunbathing, and then walk to their hotel in the early aftrenoon to check-in.

Of the top of my head I can think of Belfast City (many times, especially when the terminal was in the original location), Alderney, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Tallinn, Ajaccio, Nice.

Plus various others when staying in an 'airport' hotel which was very close to the airport but not actually on site ... but I assume that was not what you were thinking of.

I walked from Copenhagen city centre to the airport in January. Fair distance and took around 90 minutes with a quick stop at a Netto, did it because I was bored! Very creepy walking past the long-closed Terminal 1 there though!

My dad was saying he noticed on flight radar that loads of EasyJet aircraft seemed to have changed from Austrian registrations back to UK registrations. Does anyone know if this is the case and if so why?

I know the Austrian aircraft are for inter EU flights after Brexit.

I walked to Cairns airport when I was skint.

I've done Leeds Bradford before (was in Horsforth at the time).

London City, I've done a bunch of times when I've been at that part of Docklands. Used to cycle there regularly too (from Stockwell).

Walked to a bunch of the airports in Greenland, but that hardly seems remarkable, as they mostly seem to be in the town centre.

Have cycled to a bunch more (Amsterdam, Bremen, Västerås, Gatwick, Newcastle).

ISTR I've walked to Glasgow airport from Paisley too but that was a while back.

As it was a nice day(it was July, this is a given) and I had loads of time, I walked from the marina at the fort at Corfu to the airport, via the centre of the old town, along the south bay and up past the Basilica of Palaiopolis and the Temple of Artemis (both ruined). Did end up having to scramble up this bank and over the fence at the top to enter the airport.

"this will be a more interesting route to walk" are dangerous words if I utter them.

I've also walked from a good number of small airstrips in Africa. Usually when the UN jeep doesn't remember to pick us up.

It might be a filter thing? If you filter by Easyjet, you only get those flying to and from the U.K. If you filter by Easyjet Europe, you get lots of craft with OE- regs.

I could and would have walked from my hotel to MCM (Héliport de Monaco) to fly to Nice but they insisted on picking me up in a luxury people carrier!

Yep, and excluding the times where I walked from a hotel on the airport property, I've walked to:

London City (20 min from my Mrs' place)
Anglesey
Southend
Zagreb
Bucharest

and probably a few others too.

I've got some flights booked for me and my partner on BA from Heathrow to Munich. According to BA one flight is on an A319 and the other on an A321. Its her first flight so I'm hoping to pick seats with a good view, not obscured by wing, any suggestions for suitable rows?

Have you come across SeatGuru? It will give you opinions about just about any seat on an aircraft (and show you the position of the wings).

I am and did have a look but not sure if the wing outline is correct or just generic.

I tend to pick the rows at the front of the cabin between Club and the emergency exit row. You normally get a view of the engine without too much of the wing in the way.

Note that the divider between Club Europe and the Euro Traveller cabins is moveable (I think typically only overnight, though it doesn't take long), and it's not totally impossible for it to end up behind the overwing exits in A319/A320s.

Yes quite a few times actually. I used to live about half a mile from Blackpool Airport’s terminal so would always go on foot even if I had full sized luggage. Not possible anymore since the airport closed to commercial flights and I don’t live there either!

I’ve also walked to Belfast City Airport from the city centre, Memmingen Airport from the town centre there, Nice Airport along the promenade into town (highly recommended) & Bremen Airport to the central station there.

As of the end of March there is now three airlines that make up easyJet; easyJet UK, easyJet Europe and easyJet Switzerland. It was mixed prior to March in that there were some Austrian planes flying on Uk domestic routes etc but now the Austrian registered fleet operates the easyJet Europe flights (flight code EJU), which are the flights operated from bases in mainland Europe.
