As I see it, WCR can manage to run the Lakes line shuttles over Easter as unable to operate almost any specials or tours over the network due to extensive engineering being done by Network rail so WCR have spare stock and people willing to give up there time at Easter .

Why not put Sarah O'Grady ..social affairs correspondent right about her 'sensationalist' article about
'Trains shortage leaves users in 1965 carriages. shock horror in the picture?
I have written to just explain i would rather ride in a MK! or Mk2 carriage than the so called modern ones, and if she actually got off her backside and sampled the New ones, she would soon appreciate how bad passenger comfort has become'
I had not the heart to tell her that a lot of the aircraft she may go in are well over 20 yrs old she may have a fit.
More qualified people on here are in a position to explian it more eloquently

Without a link to the original source to see the context it's difficult to see what your rant is about. But can you just tell me what is untruthful about "Trains shortage leaves users in 1965 carriages."?

Northern could have sent a unit up there and a crew in a taxi, but chose not to do so (it was clearly possible as WCRC did it). Therefore they deserve to be made to look stupid.
