The 0-12-0 rack tank was in Austria- there's one in the Vienna railway museum.

There was a 4-10-0 in Bulgaria

Correct: Austrian Federal Railways class 197, used on the standard-gauge rack-and-adhesion line which served the iron-ore mining complex at Eisenerz. The class 197 supplemented the older class 97 rack-and-adhesion 0-6-2T's which worked the bulk of that line's traffic.

There was a 4-10-0 in Bulgaria

Correct again: Bulgarian State Railways class 11 (standard gauge): a total of 22 built, I believe. Originally intended for heavy passenger work; but spent most of their time on freight.

theageofthetra, two correct answers; martinsh, one. theageofthetra has the floor.

The Netherlands and Belgium have, or had, the thing -- road-and-street context -- of large dogs hauling small-ish carts. Any incidence of this, perhaps, on the narrow-gauge tramways of this part of the world?

Dogs is correct. Teams of huskies were uses on WWI era temporary lines in France & Belgium. As horses & fuel became scare towards the end of the war they were used more.

If it's (technically) my floor -- my answer was an utterly blind guess, mostly meant facetiously. Open floor, please.

(I gather that some railway enthusiasts who experienced World War I at first hand, found various utterly weird railway aspects of the scene "over there", to be a certain amount of compensation for that scene's many downsides. This could have been one of such -- husky dogs, no less...)

A very good answer and a quick check of the OS map suggests that the original London Necropolis Co station did indeed have only one platform track. However it wasn't the one I was thinking of - care to have another try?

I'll try, but it won't be tonight. So if anyone else has an idea they are very welcome to put it forward.

Bricklayers Arms ?

I can't find instant evidence for that one but it seems unlikely as it handled the whole traffic of the South Eastern Railway for nearly ten years. Incidentally I did find out that the SER had plans to extend the Bricklayers Arms branch to Waterloo. If they hadn't been rejected by parliament the rail map of South London might have looked a lot different!

Hint - the station I am thinking of still exists but you won't find it on any map!

Were the GEML Class 306s capable of operating on 1500 VDC as well as 6.25/25kV AC after conversion?

They were, but not all three voltages at the same time - so not what I'm looking for I'm afraid as that makes them dual voltage.

OK, Where were the first set of water troughs out of Euston located (in the 1940s)?
