There are changes coming to service 1 from June. Main ones are additional evening services Monday to Saturday 10pm and midnight off Plymouth and 9pm and 11pm off Tavistock which is good. There will also be an additional 5.20am departure off Tavistock . This comes month after midnight departure on Gold from Plymouth to Ivybridge is introduced

That's good news. Given Stagecoach's recent dabbling with Friday/Saturday late night services, I wonder if a 2-hourly Gold (throughout) and a 2-hourly Plymouth-Tavistock would be worth trying out?

Another nightbus? May well only be a seasonal affair or have reduced frequency when the winter timetabels come in but let us hope it is well used.

Meanwhile I guess the new Service L might dispense with the section of Service P between City Centre and Crossmead. Or the two might interwork with Service L bcoming Service P at Crossmead and vice-versa.

I can well imagine the N57 getting decent usage. Decent nightlife to be had in Exmouth if you don't fancy being around students all the time.

I wonder if this would be served by 1 of the bridge damaged Enviro 400s that have been worked on at Plymouth.

That was what I wandered too! It’s been kept under wraps, I’m expecting it to have route branding on the yellow and white, with the Paignton route branded Tridents staying where they are.

I see they’ve used two of my ideas regarding the A and F2. Most of the other plans seem ridiculous as usage is very likely to be insufficient.

Given this is the centenary year of the founding of Devon General, I would like to see one in a version of the reverse ivory-and-maroon livery that was applied to open-toppers in the 1950s and 1960s, notably the "Sea-Dogs" Atlanteans.

Closed top Scania 15893 is receiving a devon general livery of some form

This may be of interest:-

Sunday, 6 October: an Open Day at Stagecoach's Matford (Exeter) depot. As well as a rare opportunity to see behind-the-scenes at a modern, working bus maintenance facility, there will also be the chance to ride on preserved DG vehicles which will provide the transport to & from the Sowton Park & Ride car park.

Just out of interest how often do Enviro 400s turn up on Exeter city services?
Usually only to cover if they don’t have single decks or need to keep it local. They’re not really allowed deckers in the high street so the only one allocated to a decker if the one that does 970 then Ds in morning and afternoon. That’s usually an 19 series decker.

Its not unusual to see an E400 MMC on the A, D and K throughout the day. I can only imagine the joy of trying to get around the top of Thornpark Rise!

Oh look, another poorly advertised price increase. They really need to get better at giving advance notice. 5% isn't chump change really.
They don’t advertise anything. Probably haven’t told their employees.

Their Facebook, which lets face it is most used social media has very little use or information posted to it.
Compare to say First Kernow or BOS or Plymouth citybus who all post regular information, not just about their own services but promoting events in the area too.
I’m sure stagecoach are missing a trick by their lack of engagement with customers!

Oh well next time I do a journey down that way I'll just pay what I think it's worth. Tongue in cheek of course but imagine if everyone did similar. Doe'snt seem like very good management down your way.

Hi,
Managed to find the new prices on their site as I wondered how much the day ticket (all areas) had been increased to and also took a look at the map of area covered.
Biggest surprise to me as a Somerset lad was to see that according to someone the 99/99A still runs between Taunton and Yeovil. South West Coaches have run from Chard into Yeovil as route 96 along this route for a few years now with BOS running Chard to Taunton section as the 99 so at least the route number for that section is still correct.
Also I see the 20 is on the map which is/has gone over to Dartline (not certain of transfer date)
May well be other errors I am not so well acquainted with.

I’ve used my staff pass on their buses under reciprical agreements. Every time I’ve had a driver who Tuped to stagecoach either in Plymouth and North Devon (I don’t think they Tuped, but Lots of former colleagues) they all say the same thing. How much they’d Love First back and all is forgiven!

First Southwest certainly communicate well with staff, and have multiple online enthusiast and customer engagement methods that seem well run.
