Very nice!
Very nice!
Thanks for confirming that 257 is PRM modified. It has everything else right like the PIS (internal and external LED displays and automated announcements) and door sounders, yeah...? And the "USB sockets" are combined with AC sockets like on 285 and presumably the other modified 150s...? 253 is the same as you describe; the reason 285 and 284 were repainted into that mock ex-ATW livery without stripes is because they've been corrosion repaired (new lower body metal) and the programme was started by ATW. (The 158 TfW liveries are just wraps, and when the 150s get TfW livery they'll also be wrapped).
Great photo and good to see the TFW AND Wales and Borders bilingual branding - exactly as it ought to be on units which regularly cross the Border - it reflects the fact that the Franchise is serving Wales AND the Borders as the franchise name signifies.
sure about what...? not sure why a whole post was quotedYou sure about that? The 158s look very much like they’ve been painted to me.
That the 158s are vinyled not painted. Looks painted to me.sure about what...? not sure why a whole post was quoted
Thanks, will put it on the list on page 9 with TBC and also PRM because the modifications are always done at the same time158841 with new livery and branded

TFW 158s don't need a full PRM, just CET Tanks fitted.
It is testament to the original 158 design that it can meet current PRM regs by modifying the large toilet rather than replacement. It is a very good design. Not a full PRM to the extent of the 150's and 153's but certainly more than just CET loos fitted.
All internal and external door buttons get replaced as they have to have sounders. Disabled toilet door needs widening. Vestibule door next to Dis Loo needs widening. Fixing holes for wheelchair ramp need fitting.
There is a width restriction on wheelchairs in the toilet but compliant nonetheless. It is testament to the original 158 design that it can meet current PRM regs by modifying the large toilet rather than replacement. It is a very good design.
Looks really good, thanks for sharing!Close up of 158 826’s TfW Wales and Borders branding View attachment 62479

158826 in full Transport for Wales Wales and Borders livery at Rhyl
London Midland livery, but yeah thanks!153333 it is which along with 153325 was in West Midlands livery
Greater Anglia, Transport for Wales, Virgin Trains and LNER all seem to have gone for the same colour scheme!Curious how that livery is so much like the new Greatee Anglia , ' Stadler new trains '.
Right down to the black around windows .
It`s very German ICE in it`s look. That`s probably what they`re trying to achieve minus the speed of course.Greater Anglia, Transport for Wales, Virgin Trains and LNER all seem to have gone for the same colour scheme!
It doesn't seem nearly as effective on stock shaped like a brick. It`s very German ICE in it`s look. That`s probably what they`re trying to achieve minus the speed of course.
I've not yet seen 825 or 841 in the new livery (only 826/830/836/839). I assume both are also PRM modified...?I saw a pair of units in the new livery working together for the first time yesterday - sequentially numbered 158825 and 158826 on the 16:09 Birmingham International - Aberystwyth/Pwllheli.

Probably already been said but one of the class 153s going around is in first group blue with white transport for Wales logos on it. 153321 I think but that could be wrong.
