Is there a way to check the official running days of a bus service? I am trying to find out when the 811 Achduart - Ullapool bus service runs. According to Traveline, this is run by KSM Motors. Traveline shows it as running Monday - Saturday. However the "Bus Times" website specifically says the timetable on Traveline is wrong and provides a PDF to download of what they claim is the correct timetable, which only shows it as running Monday - Friday. This is the first hit when I search for the bus route. Don't know who runs this website.

The operators telephone number shows as 01571 844236 but I have tried to telephone and there is no answer. They don't have a website (or at least, not one that I can find). The times are not listed on the Council website either.

So how can I find if this bus is meant to run on a Saturday? Anyone able to help?

It seems to be registered with the traffic commissioner to run every day. Make of that what you will...

The notes in the timetables are confusing. But getting some help from the timetable put up by the operator prior to KSM Motors, it may be that this is the pattern:

1. Monday to Saturday: early bus to Ullapool: starts Achduart at 0720 on schooldays, and starts Badenscallie at 0737 on other days

2. Monday to Thursday, non-school Fridays, and Saturdays: morning bus from Ullapool to Badenscallie: 1040 on Saturdays, 1000 on weekdays

3. On school Fridays: 1200 bus from Badenscallie to Ullapool, and 1455 from Achduart to Ullapool

4. On Mondays to Thursdays, and non-school Fridays: 1256 bus from Badenscallie to Ullapool

5. On school Fridays: 1330 bus from Ullapool to Achduart

6. On school Mondays to Thursdays: 1530 bus from Ullapool to Achduart

7. On all Fridays, and non-school Mondays to Thursdays: 1630 bus from Ullapool to Badenscallie

Thanks all for the replies. As you see it doesn't seem very easy to determine when this bus runs! Earlier today the link TheGrandWazoo posted to bustimes.org had a note that the times on Traveline were wrong and provided a PDF link to what it said is the correct timetable, which I have attached now. Curiously since I posted this that link has gone. But both Traveline and bustimes.org show it as running on Saturday. I was hoping there might be data from the traffic commissioner or whatever that shows the registration of the route and the days it is meant to run, given I cannot get hold of the operator either. Perhaps I will try the Council. The varying times are because at least in this area, Fridays are a half day for schools.

there's a council published timetable update from 2017 posted at
http://www.highland.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/17626/summary_of_contracts.pdf
It lists a whole bunch of changes, but specifically this about the 811

I take that to mean its a five day school service, returning early friday

I think this is when Highland Council switched to a 4.5 day school week (half day Friday) and hence the bus timetable had to be adjusted accordingly - one of the reasons it is so complex now!
