The 153 was 360142011 & unknown 153 on the 15:05 Sheffield to Adwick today
Hi guys, hopefully this is the place to post this. I'm currently planning my next venture out with Newcastle being a possibility to clear the Heaton based Pacers that I wouldn't have seen during jaunts to the North West. A question has been asked regarding the operations of 142s in the Newcastle area these days with the possibility that these are now working further south. Could any of you confirm this for me please?
There's at least five 142s diagrammed on the SLB/BIA circuit most week days and one sitting spare at Middlesbrough in the HST sidings from 1000 onwards. Some Durham Coast services are booked 142 also, the Danby and Battersby services are booked 142s. NH based 142s are extremely rare in the NE nowadays. So HT units are more likely to turn up in the area.
142097 at the rear of an unknown ex-Scotrail 158, on yesterday's 2H96 1819 Leeds to Carlisle.
The final Sunday service on the Esk Vallley to Whitby is currently diagrammed for a 142 (I was on it yesterday and have done it a few times before). I've looked at the timetable change and that service will remain pretty much intact, but will start at Hexham rather than Newcastle. What’s the probability of it still being a 142 after the timetable change?
Ah yes, I've just noticed the typo! Sorry about that.Haha! The mythical 142097... that was never actually built
Not sure but expect to see more 158s around. The Battersby service is diagrammed a 158 from May and the afternoon Whitby is too. Although that service is currently booked a 156.
