In very fine print at the bottom the it will list the services it can be used on so they certainly could be reused. I use it as a way of checking that a train that is indicated as being at platform on RTT but isn't yet announced is the right one!

I've sometimes seen the incorrect sticker used on GWR e.g. showing a Bristol bound service as stopping at Didcot on one of the services that doesn't. Would a passenger have any recourse against the TOC as a result of this?

Considering that there would be screens and announcements I would say that whilst benefit of the doubt should be shown I'm not sure there would be any recourse (i.e. Delay Repay or similar).

Kingussie? Worle? Weston Milton? Honeybourne? Carrbridge? Langley Mill? Ivybridge? I'm not really sure about any of these, any of them could now have it installed.

I think even most of those stations do!

I had family who worked on GNER so got a few dozen from them. A nice momento of a great company

Many a time I have wandered down the train with a Sharpie in Worcester Long Siding scrubbing out Shipton and Didcot Parkway from errant label stock!

Does anybody know whether GWR are still using paper labels on the remaining HST services? I've built up quite a collection (I have asked staff, honest!) of mostly named trains but also of some of the diversion labels too. There are still a few I would like to get before the IETs takeover completely...

One unusual label available here https://www.gwrsouvenirs.co.uk/index.php/shop.html/ if you are interested.

I'm not sure if labels are still being officially produced - I picked up a label from a Plymouth - Pad a couple of weeks back*, but it was dated September 2018 (this was after the December timetable change). Perhaps there will be no Dec 2018 labels, but will be easier to judge in the new year.

*And yes it was a duplicate, but I don't collect labels in general, only from trains I've travelled on/worked and write on the back the power cars and date. Each to their own...:lol:

Funnily enough the last label I nabbed was on a Plymouth to Paddington service (also dated September 2018) which had conveniently detached itself from the window and was on my table when I boarded the train at Bristol. I wasn't sure whether to stick it back up or put it in my bag. I opted for the latter but only when we were at Paddington!

£270.00 for a box of paper labels. Think they are extracting the Passenger Informantion Screen. Did no one else notice the price?

Out of interest then has anyone seen any window stickers on named trains recently?
Living where I do there are no named trains for me to check.

Whilst expensive 'up front' it's not so bad when considered as a per-label price (a little over £1 each). I don't collect labels and have nowhere to store them, otherwise I might be tempted for some pristine ones.

I see that they've still got 26 boxes to shift out of the 30 - despite these being available for a couple of months. Might be worth keeping an eye out to see if they get discounted...

I believe on the LNER side the follow still have the named train labels

Highland Chieftain
West Riding Limited
Flying Scotsman

Unable to say about GWR, but I believe they have just about ended

They have actually imposed those penalties in Court? Really? (It might say it on there, but I never, for example, heard of anyone being fined for removing a seat reservation card - I wish they would!)

Maybe not in court but certain members of staff have got themselves in some sticky stuff, by selling company "items" on a well know auction site !! Including window labels

Back in the day I used to collect all sorts of stuff like this!

There were times when I used to just take them myself at the end of the journey, or during  but I was a kid back then, probably wouldnt do it so much now! Having said that, I have probably close to 100 window lables from years gone by obtained in various ways! There were times when I asked the guard anyway and they were more than happy to oblige, one time on FGW, the guard even got one for me. Another time, also on an FGW HST, the guard went and got every single reservation label, window label and an antimacassar for me!

In my experience, just a polite request to the guard or even cleaner will land you with what you want. Good luck. :)

Hello,
I was wondering (I am being a bit cheeky here):
Could anyone who has a GWR window label send me the measurements for it? Just height and length, obviously. I have some Hornby GWR coaches and would like to put window labels in them. I have a program on my laptop which converts between real measurements and 00 gauge.
Thanks,

Thank you very much. Ironically, that's the sort of label I will be making! :) My layout is based in the area of the Cotswold Line (around Kingham)!

Thanks once again,

Does anyone know where they store the LNER window labels at Kings Cross, Leeds, York or Newcastle? I'm hoping to visit to see if the staff would be willing to donate any labels and or have any spare labels made redundant by AZUMAS (especially KGX and LDS).

Many thanks!

May I ask, does anyone know where I could purchase any GWR HST window labels from any of the last HSTs today? I rode on one of them (The last one to Hereford) but as I wasn't going to the terminus I didn't take one. I would really like to have one as a souvenir of the day. I'd expect eBay to have some soon but if you know of another place that will have them sooner then please let me know! :)

They were selling them on board for £2.50 so it might be worth contacting Great Western as they may well have some still available.

Oh OK! Thanks very much. I was on the last HST to Hereford last night, and one of the guards said that they had "sold out"; but he didn't seem sure about what he was on about, so I'll ask GWR on Twitter or something; that seems to be the only way to contact any company these days! :)

Out of interest, were they specially printed labels or simply the ones used for regular services?

The labels I'm on about were labels that were printed for yesterday and read "Last day of HST operation on the Great Western Railway". There were two variants; one with a light background and dark text, and another with a dark background and light text.

Thanks for that  It might be worth keeping an eye out to see if GWR sell any unused ones on their online shop. I know they're selling off spare ones which were printed for the Slough/Windsor Royal wedding specials last year.
