It sure looks stunning doesn’t it.
Its nice to see a DMU like that in the final livery rather than the temporary one its 170 counterpart is in.

Anyone know whether the 172/0 stay on WMR is gonna be a long one??
From what I understand, the 172s (including the /0s) are going to remain in the fleet long-term as "the new oldest trains"

Bit of paint trivia: Chester Road does have new WMR signage, but only with platform numbers and "way out" signs, and only on P2.
Duddeston and Wylde Green have now been tangoed too.
Update: one lamppost at Wylde Green is only half done, and one lamppost at Erdington remains undone.

If it is of any interest to anyone, Worcester Shrub Hill/Foregate Street and Great Malvern/Malvern Link definitely still have London Midland signs, with the green and white "Cotswold and Malverns Line" logo, which was a nice surprise as I only ever see the logo in FGW blue and pink on the southern section of the Cotswold Line.

The West Midlands criss-cross is now starting to appear on NXWM buses but in different colours. I have seen red, green and yellow.

Only the new platinums will get the diamond crisscross, there is now pink (82/87) and red (default colours)

May have been asked already but why has Stone been given WMR branding, shouldn't it be LNWR?

It should be since only LNR trains stop there but with the company being 2 brands, they have probably gotten mixed up along the way

Stone was the first station repainted too, was done a long time before any others. Nobody has ever been able to work out why its WM but when the signage was replaced some months later the signs are also WMR, bit bizarre that one

Birmingham to Crewe via Stone is to be a WMR route rather than an LNR route according to the seperable business unit map which was in a document somebody posted on this forum a while back (my apologies for not crediting the original poster as I can't find it).

But it actually isn't because it's going to be portion-worked from Euston. This might have come from before it was intended to do this.

Best to check the train diagrams as the first train in the morning on the crewe via stoke line are to / from birmingham before switching to london services an hour later
