The Western Welsh Omnibus Company, which operated all over South and West Wales also had a considerable number of routes which were wholly within England and the operating staff were predominantly N.U.R members. B.R. had an office for Booking tickets, and Passenger Luggage in Advance at Butlin's Camp at Barry Island. This office also handled coach tours by Western Welsh and White Funnel sailings. The coach tours were advertised on two 'stand up' boards with Western Welsh enamel signs at the top. While moving these boards, into the office for the night, I noticed that one had GWR burnt into the back, which wasn't really surprising, but the other was a real surprise. There, clearly burnt in lettering was L&NWR. I wonder how that got there!
