Rovers fan myself but i dont think the walk from Parson street to the (Ashton) gate can be much more than 10 minutes. Maybe slightly over.

It's ~1 mile so more than 10 minutes despite being downhill...

Getting to Rovers no train needed and less than a 10 minute walk from my house.

MK Dons have renounced their claim to Wimbledon FC's history. To all intents and purposes, MK Dons is a new club, and AFC Wimbledon is seen as the original club's successor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reloc...C._to_Milton_Keynes#MK_Dons_and_AFC_Wimbledon

Actually the article you have provided the link to appears to be a fair and reasonably unbiased account of the sorry tale. I can't see that the comment "To all intents and purposes, MK Dons is a new club, and AFC Wimbledon is seen as the original club's successor" appears anywhere it. In fact it comments "In line with its self-perception as the spiritual continuation of Wimbledon F.C., AFC Wimbledon attempts to emulate the original team's appearance in almost every way" ..... which says it all really. Remember that AFC Wimbledon was set up and started playing in 2002, whereas Wimbledon FC did not change their name to MK Dons until 2004.

Yes, the move to Milton Keynes did cause hurt to the supporters of WFC. There again, so did (as far as I personally was concerned) did the move to Selhurst Park, and the talk of going to Dublin. And I dare say hurt has also been caused to supporters of Kingstonian FC who were forced out of their ground and into a move to Leatherhead, and Londoners who were after 2016 unable togo to the greyhound races at the last dog track in London.

Anyway....10 minute walks - has anybody mentioned Didcot Town?

When Middlesbrough moved in 1995 they moved closer to the centre. And I'm surprised it hasn't featured yet as a fit person walking briskly ought to be able to get there from the station in about 10 minutes, on a non-match day at least.
I checked Google Maps, as I thought Middlesbrough was surely a contender. Apparently the shortest route is 0.9 miles and 18 minutes to walk, although that's from the car park entrance to the station. I reckon going from the Albert Road or Bongo Club exits and being a quick walker you could just about do 10 mins.

I suppose it could be possible in 10 minutes but you'd be out of breath!
Ten minutes easy via the steps or British tip. It was less before the station moved!

Other Merthyr train trips I've seen us play at include Bath at Twerton, Hednesford, and the old Worcester City ground from Foregate St. Taunton is 10 as is Bristol Manor Farm at Sea Mills too. Some other grounds already mentioned like Kidderminster...10 minutes. Many more were a little further away like Yate, or a huge trek like Cheltenham or Gloucester let alone Salsbury or Tiverton!

Porth at Dinas Park is under 10 from Dinas Rhondda likewise Risca fc and whoever uses the Gwent academy at Ystrad Mynach.

Pontypridd Town in Ynysyngharad Park is ten minutes too but they've moved out.

Troedyrhiw FC at the Willows by the station but is now a rugby ground. There's plenty of rugby grounds near stations but that's anther thread!

Derby was mentioned in the OP. Personally I think it would be a bit of a stretch in just ten minutes. The station exit and the stadium are at opposite ends of Pride Park.

When I've been to the Memorial it's off at Bristol Parkway and bus direct from there to right outside the ground, I found it pretty quick and efficient both ways.

The one time I went to the Memorial Ground at Bristol I went to Filton Abbey Wood and walked from there. It was a fair distance, and I can't remember exactly how long it took (this was in 1998) but I was back at the station after the match in time for a 1729 departure

Two in National League South which are walkable but not in 10 minutes would be
Dartford - Dartford station
Welling United - Bexleyheath station

Similarly Hendon FC aren't that far from Hendon station, but it's an awkward walk due to the reservoir in the way!

I come out of the Birdge Street exit, down Bridge Street East and then Winward Way into the ground - it takes about 15 minutes. Sadly the Bridge Pub has gone. Always good for a pint of Magnet and a roll.

( if we drive we park near Cineworld, cross the Whitby line, down Cargo Fleet Lane to the underpass then along Winward Way into the ground _ That is about 10 minutes depending on the underpass!)

Derby is about the same distance as Boro from the station - say a 15 minute walk out of the Roundhouse entrance to the station

heir new ground, Stadium MK, is about to 30 minutes walk from Fenny Stratford.

30 minutes? Did you stop for a pint? it is less than a mile!

I normally park in Staple Hall Road and I'd say that was about a mile from the stadium - it takes me about 25 mins from leaving the car to sitting down in my seat. I've never actually walked to the station but I'd have thought it was another 5 - 10 mins from where I park, which is why I said 30 mins. I agree that it woudl take less time if the time was measured to the edge of teh car park though.

Southampton Central for St Mary's stadium. Ignore google maps 28 minute trek. If you're local, you'll know that the shortcut is around 10 minutes. But I am a fast walker.

10 minutes? The 28 minute route is in a pretty straight line. How fast are you at walking..?

That a football ground has an exit known as the Bongo Club has tickled me no end!

Argyle's ground is not far from North Road. I've walked it so I know (1960s).
Assuming you refer to Plymouth Argyle, it's astonishing that you'll have chosen to walk over 360 miles - Maps is quoting me 5 days to do it.
Exeter or Newcastle?
The one he certainly isnt referring to is Brackley.

Altrincham and Chorley are doable in 10, even if Maps quotes slightly longer for them

The present day Plymouth station originally opened as Plymouth North Road, to distinguish it from another station down the hill.

I reckon you could do Oldfield Park to Twerton Park in 10 minutes, IF you took all the shortcuts.

Dunno if Wigan Athletic has been mentioned, but I'm sure I have done Wallgate to the stadium in 10' via the river and bridge; was some time ago when I used to be able to walk quickly though!!

EDIT ...and avoid popping into the pubs on the way....

EDIT 2 ...maybe not, Google Earth suggests it's 0.96 of a mile, and I walk at 4mph unless walking Olympic style - so 15' is nearer the mark.

No way have you done it in 10 minutes or you've sprinted it. You can take a shortcut along the canal towpath but it's about 20 minutes walk.

Ajax of Amsterdam - Johann Cruyff Arena :D

OK it's not in the UK but given Spurs' spectacular victory there tonight I thought I'd throw it into the mix!

Closest to my home, Stockport County; 5 mins' walk from Stockport station!

I am a pretty fast walker! But Google maps only shows the straight route from the station to the stadium. Personally, I go from the station, cut through Hogland's Park, (sometimes stop at the Angel pub!) then walk through Kingsland Estate. A familiar route if you're local. The google maps one is very straight forward and the usual one for away fans or anyone who isn't familiar with the area.

Just adding Bath Recreation Ground and Cardiff Arms Park to the list, because no-one specified Association Football did they? :)

In that case Leicester Tigers would be another. I'm pretty sure Welford Park would be a brisk 10 minute walk from the station as it's nearer than the football ground
