What is the top 5 mostly used locomotives and top 10 wagons used within freight these days?

Can't comment on wagons as they don't interest me.....yet. Surely the Class 66 is by far and away the most used loco on freight runs. Bleeding things are everywhere haha

I'd hazard a guess as follows for locos:

  1. 66
  2. 68
  3. 60
  4. 59
  5. 90
66s are miles out in front, but if you look at TOPS there are a fair few 68s out and about each day, particularly with Chiltern and TPE both utilising them now/soon.

I contemplated adding the 70s in there, but FL have most of theirs parked up on Midland Road.

Locomotive wise it'll be 66, enourmous gap then probably 70, 68, 37 and maybe 60 at a wild guess.

The 10 most common wagons will probably be made up mostly of intermodal flats, if I had to guess at the single most numerous I'd say the FEA or FSA/FTA pairs.

If you grouped the subsets together I'd say FEA wagons (FEA-A FEA-B FEA-C FEA-S) would probably be the most.

Edit Forgot FEA-F wagons on the RHTTs.

For those who don't know/haven't looked up, FEAs are container wagons.
Historically, I would hazard a guess that HAA coal wagons would have topped the list. How times have changed!
