Ive seen a pic of 150 207 in March 2018 in part Northern livery on the Harrogate line. I wonder why it went to GW. Was it on loan?
K
Permanent transfer in exchange for 150209. The plan with 209 is that it'll eventually be converted into a centre car for insertion in a 150/1.
(at least that was what I last heard!)

Click on the link I've just posted.
Just read the case study, does this mean that some of WMT's 323s may have to transfer before December. Also don't you think August is too late to start the 323 mods as they won't be ready in time for December

2 a month till the end of 2020, it says on the link.
but December 2020 isn't the deadline for when all trains have to be PRM compliant so theres no way they can continue post December (this year) without having PRM mods so there will have to be one of three things that happens:
1) The non compliant 323s will have to be withdrawn until they can be modded
2) I think that there's a high chance that the PRM compliant units from WMT will transfer over to Northern to make up for the shortage of 323s
3) some of the 323s will have PRM mods installed separately while the others have them installed during the refurbishment

There certainly isnt a high chance of any WM 323s moving to Northern for at least a couple of years, the replacements are years away from being built and until then we need them all plus more!

I guys I've asked a clue of times but does anyone know what class of train will replace the horrible ' pacer ' cattle trucks .
On the line between Cleethorpes , via Scunthorpe to Doncaster ( all stations stopping) it was in our local paper that all stations are to have platform works and keadby canal bridge will be modified, the line also is due to be brought up to high speed running ( over 60mph ), I believe a stronger gauge to handle heavier freight trains .
But going back to the platform changes , I can't see a class 150 needing them as we occasionally get one running to Doncaster . Sadly TpE doesnt serve Crowle , which would be well used as it's a sizeable area , with Belton included that Station covers a wide area .
Hence wanting to know what class of train. , Personally I'd be happy to see a three car class 158 , they are quicker off the line than the pacer .
But I can't seem to find any info on what class is replacing it.plesse if somone knows can you post a reply .
Thanks guys .
The Scunthorpe - Doncaster Northern stoppers all start at Scunny, there is no Northern service between Barnetby and Scunthorpe. I very much suspect it will become a 150 stronghold once the pacers go. Potential for the odd 158, 170 and 195 as Donny will sign them.

Do you have a date for the publication of the article about the platform works and Keedby Canal Bridge? I presume it was in the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

The first westbound and last eastbound TPE stop at Crowle Mondays - Saturdays.

I'm not sure , but I think it was one of the rail magazines I buy , it spoke of works in various places , and those I mentioned were listed.

Also somone else has piped up and said 195's, . I hope not 150's as they are as awful as a pacer . Personally I'm hoping for class 158's or 170 the former reminds me a bit of the MK3 interior, with the tables and large windows .

Took one from Goole to Doncaster and back , and it was a huge improvement over the horrific Pacers .

I could be totally wrong with that but I said 195 because they're going to be the newest Northern units and IMHO it makes sense to replace the 'bus on tracks' with a completely new train.

Anyone know the numbers of the units that flitted between Crewe works and Neville hill on Sat 11th may. One was reported above as 158 752 Crewe to Nl.
The other 2?

If you put 195s on the 142 services, those passengers will get an uplifting quality. If the 195s go on services which can create a cascade, almost everyone gets an improvement in quality!

I suppose being upside down means it might be easier to get a plug into it? Despite that undoing one of the important safety features of the British plug/socket designs!
