It would appear that they have removed these fares entirely from the fares data. And, well, I can't say it's not justified - the only trains which serve either station don't have first class accommodation!

Bit worried about using this tomorrow and Sunday now :(

Some of the Scotrail TVMs also allow you to buy weekly season tickets using the "tickets from other stations" function. Although you need to have a photocard, but can reduce any potential hassle if you walked up to the booking office at Glasgow/Edinburgh and asked for a weekly season between Golf Street & Barry Links.
In the end my photocard arrived impressively quickly - ordered online tuesday, showed up in the post thursday morning. So no need to do anything at a station after all.

I bought the season ticket online, to be loaded onto my (newly obtained) smartcard. I've just realised I accidentally selected the wrong station (golf street!) for it to be 'loaded' onto the card at. In fact I'll be first using it from a different station entirely (fancy that).

Does anyone know if this actually matters or is it like the prepaid ticket collection where it's just a mechanism to check you're starting at a station with a machine?

I don't know, but if you have a phone with NFC and the Scotrail app, you can load it on there.

Got my 1st class season from Golf Street to Barry Links from a ticket office down south yesterday all ready for today - hopefully no issues!

Enjoy! We may inadvertently pass each other at some point.
I'm also out and about - I'm quite easy to spot, wearing a rainbow stripe football shirt. I'm on the 7:04 Glasgow to Inverness, and will be oun the Far North line, travelling back on the last train to Glasgow

I've got the guard on the 10:41 Inverness - Wick giving me grief - he's adamant that I need to buy an additional ticket from Dingwall to Dunrobin Castle, in spite of me showing the website and getting a second opinion from Scotrail's twitter

I've not slept at all on the Cally Sleeper tonight so I'm really not ready for abuse off any misinformed guards -_-

I’m on fourth journey so far and only had my smartcard scanned once. Two of the conductors didn’t even seem to be carrying a ticket machine.

What happened in the end for this?

I've been on various bits of the WHL all day and the two ticket checks I've encountered haven't been a problem.

Just one ScotRail train today for me from Kyle - guard fine with it.

Tried to use today as a general meander around Scotland, so I've come up on the Highlander to Fort Bill, Jacobite to Mallaig, then ferry to Armadale and bus across to Kyle.

Only problem I had over all the sorry weekends was today at Glasgow Central. Man on barriers wasn't sure about the "plus one other" part. Once he had read the print out of the website page I had with me, he was fine and waved us on through. Other than that, every other guard or gateline staff we have encountered has been totally relaxed and accepted the season ticket without any questions

Are you on the Inverness or Aberdeen, or both arms today?

I have been on the Aberdeen arm today.
More Aberdeen. Ended up doing this today (all HST):
Edinburgh-Perth
Perth-Queen Street
Queen Street-Montrose
Montrose-Haymarket
Haymarket-Leuchars
Leuchars-Haymarket
Haymarket-Aberdeen
Aberdeen-Montrose
Montrose-Aberdeen

No problems at all with ticket validity, in fact one of the guards looked at our ticket and burst out laughing, mentioning that Scotrail had now removed those ones from sale but there was a Monifeth to somewhere ticket that is doable at the same price in case they ever run the offer again

It's the GWR HSTs that are ending next week not the Scotrail ones. ;)

Good to see everyone taking advantage of this offer, curious to know how many people exactly took advantage of this offer due to this post?

And me, only used it one day, to get from fort william to Glasgow, but even so saved me some cash and meant I took a little diversion down to oban and back, which I've never done before and was very enjoyable. Thanks for posting it up.

I’m glad you enjoyed! Oban has been my home town for the last 2 years. Lovely little place
