Why Oxford?
Inspector Morse.
Why Oxford?
Surely Endeavour would be more appropriate for a 68 serving Oxford?
I do think that the other poster was being slightly facetious!Endeavour was the name of James Cook's ship on his first Pacific voyage.
He was from the Middlesbrough area so certainly has a geographical connection with the TPE service.
The ship was also a local Whitby "cat".
The ship for his second and third voyages was Resolution, also a Whitby cat, and is the name given to 68 022.
TP09 has now been accepted by TPE and the diagrams are the start of driver assessor training. The CAF Bletchley runs should start again Wednesday with TP04.
Every cloud and all that. Ha ha.The Pacer was actually written off.
Every cloud and all that. Ha ha.
Look at the door on the pacer . And the roof is collapsing. And yet Wolf of Badenoch was then repaired, while the Pacer was absolutely destroyed!
That photo made me never want to get in one! The difference in damage between the 87 and the Pacer is just ridiculous.
Anyhow, any Mk5 gen?
Set 6 hopefully handed over WednesdayTo summarise, from various sources (non-official however) :
Set 9 - accepted 4 weeks ago, currently engaged in staff training but requires work before it can be used in passenger service.
Set 6 - completed mileage runs 2 weeks ago, but not accepted, yet. Possibly tomorrow?
Set 4 - due to start mileage runs yesterday, but that didn't happen.
Set 3 (?) - Longsight, used as a source of spares to keep sets 6 and 9 running.
3 other sets in the UK - location Crewe/ Manchester, status??
4 sets yet to be shipped from Spain.
2 other sets, status?? Still at Portbury??
(Apologies to anyone 'in the know' if any of that is way off the mark)
Set 6 hopefully handed over Wednesday
Set 4 FFR Monday
Set 1 and 3 at Longsight
Set 2 and 5 Crewe South Yard
Everything else is in Spain and next delivery at end of May
Are there still any 68s at York?
68027 ‘Splendid’ York platform 2Are there still any 68s at York?
Proof that the 87's were so much better built, even more than the 'Skodas'And yet Wolf of Badenoch was then repaired, while the Pacer was absolutely destroyed!
In addition to Monday’s 0P68/0M68 there’s also a one way trip on Friday, and presumably that brings a fresh pair of locomotives to the York Siemens Depot.

I hope it’s ok to post this in the ‘Sturctural integrity of Pacers/Class 87s/Class 90s’ thread...
Nice photo. Managed to catch one of the sets running in to Lime Street from Carlisle. Anyone know if any runs are planned in to Lime Street on 15/05?View attachment 62820

Another light engine move booked for:
Sunday 12th May 2019
0M68 13:00 York to Longsight
It seems like there’s going to be a right old switch around!
Fingers crossed it runs

I don't know if these are in addition to the Monday moves, or instead of them.
I’m pleased that you like the photoNice photo. Managed to catch one of the sets running in to Lime Street from Carlisle. Anyone know if any runs are planned in to Lime Street on 15/05?
We could break with tradition and use names like "Garfield" or "Simba"Maybe it could be named 'Endeavour,' but only if they are still to work to Middlesbrough (are they?).
Otherwise, I am personally inclined to favour cat themed names. Mind you, I'm still undecided on the new names for two actual rescue cats me and my family will be picking up tomorrow.
The Crewe to Liverpool driver training with Set09 is supposed to start later in the week but I’m not sure of any timings or if it just replaces the Wavertree Jn light engine tripsI’m pleased that you like the photo
I wonder if this week there might be a pause in training with the Nova 3 sets? The runs last week were for driver instructors. I’d guess some classroom based training would come first for drivers.
Just guesswork, happy to be corrected
