They are very small clubs for that division, and yes it's because of their financial backers that they got into that position ( like smaller versions of Manchester City)

The attendance was actually not bad for such tiny clubs, far away from London.
Again. It was a play-off final with a place in the Football League for the victors. For Salfordians there are THREE trains per hour to London, with one per hour from Preston for the Fylde lot. The distance is around 200 miles, not an overly arduous journey and a poor excuse for the low attendance.

Rich men's playthings taking up places in the league is not good for football. Accy Stanley also get small crowds but at least their support is fairly organic (they do get a few tourists of course) and their owner is trying to make the club sustainable. That they've held their own in the third tier is to be admired but the likes of Salford and Fylde make those stories less likely.

Should have held the game at Anfield, or the Kirklees Stadium. No reason at all to drag two Northern teams down to London. Unless you own a massive stadium with a huge debt and don't care about the finances of grassroots fans......

They could even have used the Emptyhad. Might've had a few more through the turnstiles, and I'm sure they could sort out a few digital banners!

I agree - a smaller neutral ground makes for a better atmosphere and experience for all. I’d even consider much smaller stadiums for an 8k attendance, even third tier ones for example.

Man City Avg Attendance this season 54K, HTAFC..... 23K. 1-0 and the Premier League title to the empty seats! Let's see how many show up for you in the Championship.

At least Huddersfield don't have to try and sell match tickets in the newspaper or on the radio.

Unless we make a poor start, our attendances will be pretty much the same as the last three seasons. 20k have renewed season tickets so we'll be fine.

I recall City getting big crowds when they slipped to the third tier, I'm not sure they would if they did a Sunderland now...

Your reported attendance and the actual attendance are two different things though...

As they should be. I wish Liverpool tickets were that cheap.

Supply and demand though isn't it?

Claiming you sell loads of season tickets, when you sell them at £100 a pop is a bit of a hollow claim when the purchasers only turn up for 3 games a season (unless they're winning).

My Liverpool Season ticket next season is £850.00, and has been frozen again (for the 4th year in a row).
I have been a ticket holder for 23 years now and will always renew as its a great day out !

City have traditionally had a local, working class, fanbase with little support outside of the GM area. That fanbase hasn't grown massively with the success and the move to the Etihad, which does sell out for the majority of the PL games. Frankly, I don't care. I'd rather have local, loyal fans that love the club and its success than the blow-in plastic tourists on a day trip with their half and half scarves.

Discount for non-achievement?

How do you view Forest Green Rovers since they became members of the EFL, noting the size of the community they come from?

The reason the likes of Liverpool and United have supporters who come from further afield to watch them play is because they are big clubs, who also have local working class fan bases.

What non-achievement? We lost the league by a single point (compared to finishing 25 points behind you last season) and are in our second Champions League final in as many seasons. Considering all the money Guardiola has spent since he became manager, Man City have repeatedly failed to get past the Champions League quarter final.

Which is quite amazing, considering the financial doping involved.

I think that's City Bingo! And, as a supporter of the Premier League Champions for the 2nd Season, EFL Cup Holders and FA Cup Finalists I really don't care.

So you wouldn't swap a league title for a chance at winning the biggest trophy in European football?

It's not the staff and player's fault that cheating is involved, the on field performances and achievements are on merit.

There is a rumour swirling that Man City are due to make an announcement though, sponsoring the tea lady for £200m over five years. UEFA wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Well done to Man City. Liverpool city centre is still booming tonight. I don't feel any disappointment.

No disappointment from me either, I'm immensely proud of what this Liverpool team has achieved so far this season.

They're also bankrolled by a rich benefactor aren't they? Not to mention the vegan pies and so on... not a fan!

It's quite something that football fans are complaining about other clubs having cheap ticket deals... you're all being fleeced yet you wear it as a badge of honour! Mugs, the lot of you.

Yep. Well done Manchester City. The table doesn’t lie, and City winning all those games in a row in the second half of the season was incredible.
Let’s see what next season brings, as this one has been fascinating, and the Premier League is surely the most exciting top league in the world at the moment.

Really quite upset. Was sat waiting for the 22:25 from Lime Street to depart and take me home to West Allerton when a train from London arrives. Que hundreds of blues piling off the train from London chanting "You lost the league and you're still crap" and hammering on the Windows of our train. There were f all Liverpool fans left in town but the virtuous blues proper shat up a load of " civilians". Kids, young kids they had smacking the Windows of our train. And they give our fans agro for past behaviour. They should be ashamed.

Well they’ve had such a great ten years...
