I couldn't see the answer initially.

Are the DRS 37s doing the Norwich-Yarmouth after the 17th May 2019?

I am thinking of a trip after the 17th but if they are ending then I may try and get a day off next week (some hopes in this place).

Thanks in advance,

My understanding is that they are continuing but for how long I don't know. (and I doubt GA know either).

I would expect it to be until mid-late June at least. NC37 is the first diagram that the 755s are currently expected to be booked to once a couple or so are accepted.

Forgot to ask what 37s are up there at the moment?

Any swap outs planned before the end of the month

It was 423 and 716 on Saturday, although I couldn't say whether they have swapped/will swap. The rake is down to only two coaches at the moment though so it can get a little cosy!

Been like that for a couple of weeks. Only slightly better than a Scud

Last Friday , tried to get the class 37s on one diagram , one of the services was cancelled to and from great yarmouth , confusingly one set was on a Lowestoft , which was not on the diagrams list , only ones in the evening go there.

The diagrams only reflect what is planned to happen - obviously on the day something different can happen for whatever reason.

They leave Norwich for Lowestoft at 14:55 & 19:02 returning at 07:45, 15:48 & 19:55. As said though they do not have to stay on diagram at any time

Thanks for the update Train Boy, that's a shame for anyone visiting Norwich to ride the short set, as i consider the Lowestoft journey to be excellent with the 37's.

I agree, I have visited a few times from Weymouth and have always done the 1236 to Yarmouth and return, as well as the 1455 to Lowestoft and return, before heading home.

GA must be confident of having a DMU available to cover those services. The availability of the DMUs at the end of last week seemed to be even worse than usual.

The diagrams all have mods from the timetable change & will do so until 755 introduction. The 37s now take rest 1352-1736. What was the 1455 now swaps with the Ipswich arrival at Lowestoft & forms the 1607 up the East Suffolk.

Any chance of the 37's returning to the 1455 or is that it?
Any new developments to report since the 21st May?
TIA

Does anyone have any idea if the class 37s will be running on Saturday June 28th on the 1236 Norwich to Yarmouth round trip?
Many thanks

I doubt anyone here, or even GA themselves, would know that for sure. The latest information is that the Class 755s will be replacing the 37s on the Wherry lines from late June or early July. So I’d say it’s only possible but not likely that will have happened by 28th June.

Thank you. So it is all to play for as such so it could be a class 37 or the new 755s...both good!

Good on you! Great beasts. Was up there a few years back when both the 68s and 37s were running unfortunately didn't get on the 37s hopefully they might still be running... fingers crossed!

Can anyone tell me if the 37 hauled diagrams in the "frequently requested diagrams" thread currently still apply, or have some of them begun to be substituted by 755s already? (Thinking of travelling later this week)

There "should" be a 745 unit starting from Monday 22 July as it's been said locally that certain trains will not be calling at Brundall Gardens, but I can't find the actual message, it was on Anglia rail gen on Facebook.

Wednesday not Monday. Just says that on the posters. It's a 4-car 755 though. 745s would not run off the wires.

I did a run on the 37 last wednesday... seemed like quite a few people out photographing it so it seems like there's an expectation the end is nigh!
