I can see C2C, South Eastern, London Overground, TfL Rail. Could there be more?
Merseyrail?
Although a subsidiary, I don’t think GatEx meet XC at all
Also Island Line
Merseyrail?
XC serve Stansted Airport though?Depends if we're talking about TOC entities or their brands. The brands are all listed here: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/indicator.aspx
Could include Heathrow Express regardless (forgot that before), and Stansted Express if brands are in.
XC serve Stansted Airport though?
Used to when GEx was its own TOC and the previous incarnation of XC ran to Gatwick. Actually, in 'old XC' days it ran to Ramsgate so would have run cheek-by-jowl with South Eastern.Although a subsidiary, I don’t think GatEx meet XC at all
You’re excused though, it’s only the pretend “XC-lite” after all...Argh, yes!

I don’t think you’re alone in that...I often forget the XC Class 170 services when XC is mentioned. I automatically think of Voyagers and HSTs.
Also, going back to the very first rounds of franchising, I am not sure if the present day Manchester Piccadilly - Cardiff Central via Stockport, Shrewsbury, and Hereford was the former Regional Railways North West or Wales & West (I think RR W&W became Wessex Trains if I remember right).
I am aware that Intercity Great Eastern did not meet what was to become the Virgin XC, as it was a simple route with traditional Intercity trains between London Liverpool Street and Norwich.
GX is operated by GTR who meet CrossCountry at places such as Ely, Cambridge, Peterborough.Although a subsidiary, I don’t think GatEx meet XC at all

True, though when the OP specified "TOC", I assumed they meant National Rail TOCsNorthern Ireland Railways, its still United Kingdom.
GX is operated by GTR who meet CrossCountry at places such as Ely, Cambridge, Peterborough.
Think there is only Island Line and maybe Merseyrail if XC doesn't serve Lime Street or Chester
The only other one I can maybe think of is London Overground
GX is operated by GTR who meet CrossCountry at places such as Ely, Cambridge, Peterborough.
Island Line is operated by SWR who meet CrossCountry at Reading and along the Basingstoke - Bournemouth corridor
Not really though. Ha ha. Kind of true.Overground of course used to meet XC at Kensington Olympia.
And Merseyrail met VXC pre-May 2003 at Lime St.
Not really though. Ha ha. Kind of true.
And TfL only until December, if you believe the latest expectation/aspirationIs it cheating if I use this to help me? https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/media/1298/crosscountry-route-map.pdf

...
They could mean TOCs operating in Great Britain in which case Eurostar would count, or they could mean TOCs in the whole UK in which case Tramslink would also count.
That was Wales & West, anyone remember Alphaline? Also, going back to the very first rounds of franchising, I am not sure if the present day Manchester Piccadilly - Cardiff Central via Stockport, Shrewsbury, and Hereford was the former Regional Railways North West or Wales & West (I think RR W&W became Wessex Trains if I remember right).

Alphaline was under BR used for many 'Express' routes inc North West/-Anglia. It meant the train had catering, payphone & air-conditioning. Basically just a 158. I think it was dropped over time by all but South Wales & West, later just Wales & West then Wessex. That was Wales & West, anyone remember Alphaline?
That was a brand name (like Stansted Express etc), not a TOC.That was Wales & West, anyone remember Alphaline?
