Is Centaur coming back? A 68 should've left at 1300 but no reports yet
Edit:
On its way 30 late

Delayed at York due to being boxed in by two Class 170 units. The 170s wouldn’t multi-up and so had to be shunted platform 2 to 4 individually!

0M68 on the move 30 late and confirmed as 68027 ‘Splendid’

So did 68024 work 0P68, and is now returning to Manchester as 0M68? Meaning 68027 is still at York?

Apologies, workings as follows:
68024 ‘Centaur’ 0P68 Longsight To York PSD.

68027 ‘Splendid’ 0M68 York to Longsight.

Original post now corrected.

Is it just a happy coincidence that the light loco moves are always 0x68, or has that been done on purpose?

68024 ‘Centaur’ at York this evening.
It worked a full set of York to Scarborough driver refresher turns today:
0B60 08:00 YRK-SCA
0B61 09:00 SCA-YRK
0B62 10:00 YRK-SCA
0B63 11:00 SCA-YRK
0B64 12:00 YRK-SCA
0B65 13:00 SCA-YRK
0B66 14:00 YRK-SCA
0B67 15:02 SCA-YRK

In addition
68032 ‘Destroyer’ worked
0P68 05:13 Longsight to Scarborough

68019 ‘Brutus’ worked
0P68 between Scarborough and York, recessing in platform 2 before working
0M68 10:36 York to Longsight.

In summary:
68024 is now the York driver refresher, 68032 is now the Scarborough driver refresher.

With all these refresher trips on the 68s, what's the situation with the DTs?
I don’t have any inside info but from observation the York and Scarborough trips remain light engine and work most days.

Last week there were four days of trips for driver instructors on Nova 3 sets working Crewe-Carlisle-Liverpool-Carnforth-Preston/Crewe.

I notice that so far this week the Crewe-Wavertree Junction light engine 68s have been caped, presumably these have finished now and from now on the Manchester drivers will be working Nova 3 sets. Perhaps this week is classroom instruction.

Happy to be corrected on any of that;)

We could break with tradition and use names like "Garfield" or "Simba" :E
That's the sort of thing I was thinking of. You see, the 68s are nicknamed 'purring cats' because of their quiet Caterpillar engines. I don't like the warship theme. Warships only kill people.

My two cats have arrived. I called them Alara and Jessie.

Goof photo, I have yet to see the new pedestrian bridge

Thank you, I’m pleased that you like the picture. There are some good views of the line from the Scarborough Bridge and it doesn’t obscure pictures taken from the riverside.

I would have suggested you cut the Gordian knot by naming your cats Lord President and Destroyer.

Suppose it'll be practice for rescuing one. Loss of coolant on 68023 by all accounts.

If things go as currently planned it may be worth watching the set being returned to MID. Probably not a 68 but the same numbers though!
