43185 and 43009 didn’t work 17.03 PAD-PNZ as booked tonight due to issues with the TGS on the set.

17.03 down was IET vice HST with the HST instead working 5Z74 ECS Paddington to The Marsh

If you can buy a ticket for that service, then it is defacto valid, as you have an itinerary.
If it is an advance, then you can't travel on any other service, so yes GWR will have to honour it
Thank you very much
Although it's of course worth noting that they could just as well put you on the next service if the booked train is too busy, and incur whatever delay compensation bill that may incur (which could be zero).

Until you are on the train and it has left, there is no guarantee that you will make it!

Will the 18:22 to Hereford stopping at Oxford run as an HST? Wondering whether to take this service and back or 18:30 to Didcot Parkway and back to give the HSTs my first try before they leave Paddington.

Sorry for asking so many similar questions, but does the 1C26 (last HST) allow for advanced ticket bookings, as I saw that someone wrote somewhere that the service doesn't allow for advanced bookings, and I don't want to buy an advanced ticket for the service only to be told that my ticket is invalid as the service was only available for reservations with off peak singles. The intended ticket is only for part of the journey, and is (according to the GWR booking tool) still available for advanced booking. Many thanks as always.
well, this would require GW to release quotas of said tickets on the service, and when they announced it as the last there weren't any - and I juts looked now and did not find any (but there are some on the 18.32, no doubt to encourage 'ordinary' passengers to use that, not the HST) - so if you want a seat on it it seems to me that you need to book at the walk up fare (at least the day before) on line or at a station or by phone, and reserve a seat on it with that ticket.

If they don't release any advance tickets (discounted ones I mean) then you will need an off peak single. And that is what it looks like to me, tho I'd stand corrected if anyone spots such tickets.

You should be able to book it, plus a reservation on the GWR website
I can find it using tickets.gwr.com

Was able to make the booking, now I just need to hope that there haven't been too many reservations taken, but I booked a specific seat so I should hopefully be fine.

1A81 & 1C84: 9 car IET vice HST on IW02.
Set swapped at Plymouth so the poor buggers on 1a96 have to take IET vice HST up to London. Lucky folks heading westward get the HST. Fault due to 162 failed Speedo.

What are the current sets about at the mo?

Thanks,
Nat

Anyone know any of the day HST departures on the 18th? Thinking of getting on one in the day, and then watching the last one leave PAD so I can get home to Leicester before the last train.

Does anyone know if 1A81 is the booked HST or an IET substitution today?

That's a good plan, but note in case of interest - you can get the 18.15 HST to Cheltenham, thence to Brum and the last Leicester connection off Brum on Sat eve if of any interest.

Obv you cann't then see the 18.30 leave paddington, so you may want to travel on one of the diagrams earleir int he day (eg an out and back to Bristol?)

So you could to Leicester to St Pancras (by HST obv) - then Paddington to Bristol Rtn on an HST - arrive into Paddington in time to see all the departures from 18.00 to 18.30 off platforms 1 to 4, then head back to Leicester on an HST again.
